Drunken louts can have loyalty too

The Armagh v Down game was as bad a game of county football as I can ever remember. There were of course flashes of brilliance but really they were few and far between. It's not even the 15 men behind the ball by both sides, it's the lack of desire and intensity to win the ball back from the opposition that really frustrates me. That little bit of quality off the bench seemed to tip it slightly in our favour. 2 great scores by the Cullyhanna men.

The referee completely bamboozled me with his calls throughout the match.

I see some posts about the Armagh crowd at the game. I arrived to Clones pretty late and went straight to the ground. I have to say it was noticeable the amount of really drunk young ones, and a large Garda presence. Not just a few pints, but in bad shape. I wondered was it because of the 5.15 on Saturday game but I'm probably deluded in that.

Were  there any incidents re: the buckfast gang?

Not that I witnessed. Nothing major.  I was in the Pat McGrane though and everything was pretty civilised in there. Last year we had a flare thrown down on top of us from the hill so it was bonus not to have that again.

Incidentally I saw one bottle of buckfast and a lad in a town top was holding it. He must have been minding it.

Highlight of the match yesterday was young Conor Loyd from our club who played in the All Stars half time game! Grabbed the mic and walked off with it during the half time interviews! Very funny and well handled by the BBC team!

This is brilliant. The crowd was rightly entertained in Clones too with the lad who took a big interest in the band. He had his head in the tuba type instrument at one stage. Showing my lack of musical knowledge here.

Spurs certainly not on the beach yet.  They are well in the battle for 4th. They've games in hand albeit a couple of difficult ones.

If only Villa could hold on to 2 nil leads. I dont understand how anyone thinks Chelsea's 3rd should have stood. Are deliberate shoves in the back and no attempt to play the ball ok now?

Brunei - Not sure I can claim this as a 'visit' but I flew home from Australia for the AIF in 2010 and back via Brunei, spent 12 hours in Brunei airport, which would make Belfast International look like Times Square, a dry country too so no pints, that was a depressing layover!

Staying in the north west end of Fuerteventura in a month. Anyone able to recommend any beaches or towns up that way?

I stayed in Corralejo twice. It's defo north anyway but the beach near the Riu Olivia hotel is massive. The town is grand too and has a bit of life about it.

Yeah just Austria for me out of that list too.

It's very hard to pick 3 from Queen as they have so many top class tunes.  I'd never skid a Queen song when it comes on in the car.

Firstly it would be valuable to put a phone queue system in place to say you have reached such and such surgery you are now 15 in the queue, it would help a lot of folk especially older folk and give you some semblance of getting somewhere instead of redialling 100 times only to be told there is no appointment.  I would save some appointments each morning for very vulnerable people who ring in after the 8.30 deadline so they can be seen the next morning, it would be great if a doctor rang back instead of a receptionist to say go to A&E instead they are so protected it's impossible to get speaking to them.

Alot of surgeries have this already, but it depends on the number of phone lines coming in to the building. Digital lines are able to cover as many as you want pretty much and will be the norm in 5 years or so.

It also doesn't improve your chances of getting an appointment. There will still be the same amount of people dealt with in a day.

Mine has this. But it can only hold 6/7 people in the queue. Therefore when the queue is filled, you get an engaged tone.  200+ calls to hopefully get onto the queue. Half hour wait from there. Nothing worse than being the next one up and it disconnects.
