9 weeks down, 5 to go in the regular season, and things are hotting up in the GAA Board Fantasy NFL.

In the Montana Conference, the 8-1 Faithful Turfmen 'B' find themselves in the number 1 seeding at the moment, despite having the 4th best points tally. Some big games upcoming in the next couple of weeks might scupper them yet, and there is a great race brewing behind as teams 2,3,4 and 5 are seperated by 1 game at the moment. In the relegation zone, we have 4 teams on 2-7 and one team on 3-6, so there'll be a race to the finish down there too...

In the Payton Championship, The top 4 have a little more separation, as 4th place has a 2 game lead over the 5th position, but the Rossies won't be giving up just yet, particularly as they face off in Week 10. On the bottom end, there's a huge scrum with 6 teams (including the aforementioned Rossies) are seperated by just 2 games.

Finally, in the Jerry Rice Championship, the dominant force so far has been Oraisteach's Browns, at 8-1 but that single defeat has meant that 2 games cover the first 5 seeds here as well, and a fascinating promotion battle is heating up. Even teams on 4-5 and 3-6 won't be completely writing themselves off just yet. The Uibh Fhailians have had a tough debut season, but their points tally would indicate that that is a little harsh, so they'll be hoping for the first win soon.

Bill Belichick Division

2.    puppet master    6-3-0    .667    4-1-0    1157.31    1042.25    L-2    6    22

Its weird how the scoring goes. I'm in a random league on ESPN and I've the highest total points of any of the ten teams and I'm 4-5! Every week I'm playing someone who is shooting the lights out or is plain useless.

Luck plays a big part in this Seanie. You never really know going into a season how a player is going to perform. Then there are injuries. Peyton Mannings injury  was a fantasy football bombshell it made a mess of Dallas Clark, Wayne, Garcon, Addai, Collie, Vinatieri etc. as well as the Colts team. Chris Johnson a top 3 player has tanked so far this year. Larry Fitz has been mediocre.

These leagues are competitive. There are some real hawks in this league who gobble up any player as soon as they show any promise.

In Larry Fitz defence he is only as good as the QB allows him to be, unless he has had a load of drops.

It's not Larry's fault. They let Breaston and Boldin and Urban go in the last few years, so basically Doucet is his only foil. He's double teamed, and still gets his big catches. He just can't catch 11 balls a game any more, until either the O-Line gives Kolb some time, or other receivers become threats. In fairness to Beanie Wells, he's been good this year, so it's not like other years where the Cards had to pass.

Delighted to have the spectre of relegation banished at least. It's all onwards and upwards from here - as soon as Darren McFadden gets back fit of course....

I don't mind how long it takes him to get back- picked up Michael Bush when he first got hurt just in case it took him a while to get back. Guess that makes me a hawk!

McFadden is still on crutches so I would imagine he is out this week.

Remember lads - Thursday Night Game this week. Waiver wire will lock at that point. Make sure your rosters are set, and any Free Agents you need are picked up.

It's San Diego hosting the Raiders.

I drafted Bush and held him all year cos I figured there was a good change of McFadden getting hurt. It was a calculated punt.

My smartness didn't last long. I left the Bears D/ST on the bench. Did mean to change it but never got around to it. Oh dear!

Jesus - I've never seen any player, any position score 47 points before. Obviously you still have a chance, nothing can be ruled out with Peterson, but you'd be coasting home with that switch all right.
