Turkey vs Holland

No, not a football match but a topic that most people are avoiding discussion on. The recent diplomatic incidents between the countries have revealed the tension that is starting to form in the streets in europe. Current Dutch Prime minister could lose his position very easily as the voting population see riots in their neighbourhoods. Turkey could pull the plug on marshalling their borders if their diplomats are expelled.
Is this the way the EU project was supposed to go and something that european citizens need to get used to?
Maybe get a few Irish firms to build some walls a la Trump? Crazy and scary times ahead.

Was only a matter of time before Srebrenica was mentioned

Funny how the members of this board are reluctant to comment on the topic. 170 views and not a peep from the usual suspects.

As you say it's interesting how Erdogan is using these Bosnia 'facts' now to make political gains.

Very dangerous words are being used - calling the dutch Nazi's seem to be straight out of the US Democrats playbook.
It's going to push more dutch citizens into voting for the nationalist party and causing a bigger rift in society if Wilders wins and carries out his election promises.

If he does then expect riots and protests throughout europe and in turn more nationalist parties in other countries making significant gains. It ain't going to be pretty.

Wilders might win but can't see him ending up in government seeing as all the other parties have refused to negotiate or deal with him at all.

Political observers in Netherlands reckon the government's (manly) actions have gained favour with public opinion,
nevertheless, this high profile spat has had minimal effect on voting intentions

Certainly going to be an interesting result and a barometer for the rest of europe.

Its hard to know how to judge this ... is it just a lot of hot air or is it par for the course of how the world is going .. i.e. Europe splitting up, USA retreating into itself, generally being more irritable with your neighbours etc...

Too early to tell yet if the world is going back to an early 20th Century footing  :(

All well need then is some lad to be shot in Sarajevo  :o

Russia stirring things on the eastern front too. Throw in Isis as well. Interesting times ahead for sure.

Mid and West European Countries which suffered the Nazi jackboot are not inclined to elect Nazi racist xenophobespecially to lead them..
Unlike the Brits/Yanks and Poles/Hungarians.

Wouldn't be so sure about that. The French and the Dutch have both given significant votes to right and far right parties.

Thankfully there's not enough wingnuts in France and the Netherlands to give these lads any power... unlike America!

The tide of intolerance is turning... hopefully this is the beginning of the end of this nonsense!!

Intolerance of what? Illegal mass immigration? Rioting?
