In to-day's Irish News, in a report listing the various condemnations of the alleged sectarian abuse of Darren Graham, the Fermanagh footballer and hurler, the Sport agianst Racism in Ireland group has the following advice for all Gaels, and I quote directly:

"We would encourage the Ulster Council of the GAA to examine the anti sectarian programme of the Irish Football Association with a view to the development of a  sports wide response to the curse of sectarianism and racism"

In other news, the BNP is on hand to advise about community relations, the Free Presbyterian Church has just released a policy document supporting Gay Rights, and the Klu Klux Klan's combatting colour prejudice template will be available shortly. ::)

Police suspect a white working class Ulster Protestant who is opposed to the Long Kesh stadium and who has never played football on Sunday nor been to see A Night in November ;D

In Sean Holllywood Arts Centre this Friday and Sunday night, 8pm, tickets £10 available by phoning 028 3031 3180. I urge any of you who haven't seen this play, about sectarianism at North of Ireland games to go along

Really liked this week's Newry Democrat preview as follows

"The play us about a protestant man, Kenneth Mc Allister, who goes to Windsor Park to watch the World Cup qualifying game between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in 1993.He becomes repulsed by the sectarianism  he hears around him coming from his own community and takes a few decisions which result in him goimng to America to suopport the Republic in the World Cup Finals. So from the night he sets foot in Windsor Park, he sets off on a journey that transforms his life, the perception of himself and the two communities in Belfast"

This is obviously a warm up for Kielty before he takes the play to Belfast's Grand Opera House later this month. His biggest challenge will be to get into the unionist psyche and display the hatred and bigotry accurately. This play could be ruined by an over emphasis of its comic element. Dan Gordon got it just right, but he was from East Belfast. Kielty has a hard act to follow as Gordon played the role brilliantly and I think also he went on a similar personal journey in his own life from East Belfast protestant unionist to Irish nationalist

He wants a 30,000 stadium, the Long Kesh site is the only feasible option.

This was the scene of the sectarian slaughter of hundreds of protestants, who were drowned there in 1648, and as such will be a shrine to terrorists (if they ever get round to clearing the f**king weeds out of the water that is)... the rowers can float their boats elsewhere. Just thought I'd be the first to stick my oar in on this issue ;D

I know its only pre season etc, but losing 2 -0 to a bunch of yanks and worse still 4-1 to Newcastle doesn't exactly  augur well for the new season.Remember we haven't Paul Le Guen to fall back on this season either. Hurry back Nakamura

There you have it, the people that allegedly want Football for All, venting their absolute hatred for the GAA and linking them mischieviously with paramilitary organisations, which could well have fatal consequences for any one of us.

Observe the hypocrisy also, they dont want a so called terrorist shrine at the Maze but a lot of them and their politicians who vociferously oppose the Maze (yes Poots, Dodds, Mc Narry who once branded Portaferry in his own constituence a "fenian hole") are members of the Orange Order who parade openly with banners honouring notorious Unionist Paramiltarty murderers etc.

Also I am enraged by that fcukwit big eared cnut Poots misrepresenting the GAA. Danny Murphy sets the record straight in to-day's Itish News when he denies that the GAA vetoed a Belfast stadium but explained that of the two feasible sites on offer, they indicated their preference for the Maze, as they have to serve all of Ulster including Monaghan, Cavan and Donegal. >:(

It goes to show how unfit the Paisleyites are to be in government given their inability to govern on behalf of all the people >:(

I commend Mr Well's pragmatism (there simply is no viable option to the Maze) and aspiration to a shared sporting future, which might well garner cross community support for both the IFA's senior international side (as the current over hyped Football for All  Campaign has been an abject failure)and allay the unfounded and irrational fears many unionists have about the GAA.

I hope he has the steeliness to withstand the calls for his resignation from the neanderthals on the OWC  Website who have no interest in a shared future but wish to retain an international team as a totemic symbol of unionism. Funny how unionists consistently call for Englishmen to go invariably, when they don't get their own way

I take issue with the writer (who by the way is not me) on one point only. That of Windsor Park being a no no for other sports. After all Dungannon Swifts GAA All stars won a UEFA Cup tie there last week...which is more than the ground's owners can do ;D

at Windsor Park! ;D

Well done to Dungannon Swifts on a great victory over FK Suduva in the UEFA Cup last night at Windsor Park, showing the permanent tenants how to win a European game there. :P

The goal was scored by Portadown Tir Na Nog's Mark Mc Allister ser up by Pearse Og's Shea Campbell (now we know why he left Linfield, to experience a win in a European tie at Windosr ;D)and Fermanagh's Shane Mc Cabe and Ryan Mc Cluskey also featured for the Swifts. Congratulations to my old friend Harry Fay, Swifts Manager, who is surely the best manager in the Irish League.

Great to see that they chose the capital of God's own county to hold this historic meeting.

Methinks that the All Ireland government is taking shape nicely, and I commend all concerned

General discussion / I do not believe it!
July 17, 2007, 02:04:58 PM
On my return from vacation yesterday I picked up a copy of the Belfast Telegraph and couldn't believe my eyes. The back page main story was related to GAA (well Tyrone at any rate). Just goes to show that letters to Managing Directors can produce results ;)

Before you ask, I had a great holiday, the highlight of which was a visit to the San Siro in Milan last Thursday afternoon (although my wife preferred the Vittoria Emanuelle Galleria and La Scala Opera House) and a stadium tour (leather seats in the dressing rooms have to be seen to be believed, and I can now say I had a crap in the same toilet as Kaka, Maldini etc ;D). Also you may be interested to know that there is a Spurs jersey and a Celtic jersey displayed on the wall of the San Siro's museum along with other top European clubs :-*

See to-day's Irish News, Rev David Firth, rector of Wolverhampton, said

"I believe Derek to be an unsung here of peace and reconciliation... the story of his off the field work to put together an All Ireland football team ought not to be lost among the tales of his on field prowess"

I note that there was no official IFA representation at the funeral, not even Jim (mouth bigger than my head and I'm not sectarian) Boyce, who has plenty of time on his hands. Ah well, these pygmies would have been out of place amid football giants who did attend, like Jennings, O'Neill, Gordon Taylor etc. Also loved the coffin in Wolves colours with badge. I want one of those, with Spurs colours and badge, when I shuffle off this mortal coil

Has to be Derby,Wigan and Fulham

Derby haven't strenghtened and were lucky enough to get up, ditto Wigan, who were lucky to stay up and I think Fulham are signing too many North of Ireland players (who are average Coca Cola Championship standard only IMHO) and I don't rate Sanchez as a Manager either, and would be surprised if he's still Fulham Manager this time next yeer, particularly with Al Fayed's short fuse
#695
I personally am not surprised by this statistic. During my schooldays dogs used to engage in healthy physical activities such as chasing moving cars, cats, postmen etc, nowadays you simply don't see it any more. In fact you never even see two dogs having an impromptu fight in the street these days, or even shagging bitches anymore. No wonder they''re all so fat, all they seem to do these days is sleep, shite and eat. They could be mistaken for Civil servants >:(

I for one am glad that we didn't go for cheaper options like signing Henry from the Goons!

What a team we are assembling, with the likely addition of Kaboul from Auxerre and Davis from West Brom  in the not too distant future as well. No wonder Mourinho fears us next season;D

John Robb is an eminent surgeon from the protestant community in the 6 counties who has devoted his life to the cause of a New United Ireland. To my mind he is ten times a better Irishman than gutless toadies like Ahern,Kenny, Mc Didntdowell, Rabbitte etc,and numerous others in Kildare Street, Dublin, will ever be >:(

I see N London's finest are visiting our national capital on July 12th to play St Pat's in a friendly (obviously Brian Kerr's friendship with Chris Hughton is as strong as ever). Sadly I will be on annual vacation and a secret destination on the continent but I would urge you all to go and witness this event

I received through the post yesterday, two tickets to the London Masters Football at Wembley Arena on Saturday July 21st at 7.30pm. This has been some sort of competition prize but for the life of me I can't remember which.I am unable to go, but will gladly offer them  free of charge to any Spurs fan who can go or failing that any other London based ex pat, without discriminating in terms of colour, creed, sexual orientation, class, ethnic background. The only people excluded are Goons! ;D

PM Me if interested asap

Just thought I'd let you all know that North London's original and only true club is celebrating its 125 birthday this year and what a momentous season lies ahead. With money being spent likes there's no tomorrow on the likes of Gareth Bale and possibly Darren Bent, we are strengthing relentlessly to claim our rightful place among the Premiership elite (Jose Mourhino gratifyingly considers us as genuine Title contenders next season) and the Glory Days are surely imminent once more.
