Heard on the weather forecast today that the Gulf Stream is miles away from where it would normally be off the Irish Coast at this time of year and this is responsible for the ongoing cold weather. Hard to know if this is complete tripe to boast the Green agenda or if this happens so rarely that people take note when it does.

Anyone know what the weather is like around Greencastle/Kilkeel? BBC reckon there was up to 9 inches in Newcastle last night, hopefully it isnt as bad near Cranfield.

Maybe the North Atlantic Drift is about to turn off, time to buy some wollies, glooves and big furry hats, we might be the next skiing destination. Ireland, Britain, France and Norway should have similar weather to Labrador, Alaska & Siberia only for the NAD, the end is near  :o
Personally I think its a desperate attempt by the Green Party to stay in power, those darn evil lettuce munchers   >:(    :D

Plenty of Snow in Kilkeel today. Long time from I saw snow on the beach at Cranfield.

Kilcoo/Castlewellan/Newcastle/Leitrim area got 6-8 inchs last night and no thaw as yet. And as far as 15 miles away in Banbridge, Ballynahinch and Newry no snow at all.

No snow in central Mayo, the snow fell yesterday but never settled as the ground was so wet, which means lots of ice now that its frozen.
