GAA Discussion / Re: Ticket Prices

the GAA is not soccer or Rugby but they compete with thim everywhere for players for space in cities for supporters ETC and they do Charge Much less to attend matches than any of the other but while they Charge at all , Some people will be whinging.
They cannot compete without a pot to piss in. As for Cashless games the biggest benefit for dodgy is its much harder to dip into

To all the posters asking why Fergal Boland wasn't in the Mayo football squad tonight, I hope you were watching the Intermediate Hurling final in Croke Park just now. Fergal played a blinder. What a sportsman he is. Hard luck Tooreen. You did Mayo proud
Fergal was dropped from the football panel along with onor o shea and Darrren coen.

St Grellans are top 3 in Galway.
They won 15 titles in 17 years between 1913 and 1929. They added 5 more between 1930 and 1980 . Nothing since.
Crossmaglen can either keep on winning or fade away slowly.
[/b]0 chance of that. Too many sons and nephews of footballing royalty knocking about the squad, added to the huge pick and the natural fear nearly all Armagh clubs have of the black and amber jersey they'll be about for a while yet, at least in Armagh.
are st grellans/ballinasloe the only place to have won a football and hurling title in Galway.
i know they may have been different club but is it the closet to a double  there is?

Because we'll be told Stormont has no more money than was originally earmarked blah blah, tournament can't go ahead unless suitable stadium in 6 Cos, so 26 Co Taxpayers funding needed.
32 county org but Stormount should foot the bill for a belfast stadium just as they did for soccer and Rugby .
even in the South the Government have written a blank cheque for Soccer and are building Grounds for LOI clubs with no input from FAI . eg. Shamrock rovers Shelbourne and Bohemian fc. Finn harp looking for one too for their 200 supporters.

Hopefully, if it sickens boys like you then hopefully

According to Wikipedia, teams from Monaghan, Carlow, Meath, Offaly, Kildare, Sligo , Tyrone, Donegal , Clare , Westmeath, Tipp and Longford have won provincial championships but not the All Ireland.
No club from Cavan, Fermanagh, Kilkenny, Leitrim, London, Louth, Waterford or Wexford has ever won a national or provincial title.

a few of  of those have hurling titles so ill save my sympathy

Expect a cry for the girls to get the same.

Team pretty much picked from semifinal on with a few big names to show he was awake for the rest of the year.
I would have had sean kelly much further up as overall he probably was galways best player last year,
likewise on last years form Comer should be nowhere near that team.
And of course a shocking lack of mayo players league finalist and put out of the championship by champions Kerry , deserves more than just Leeroy , but  i Maybe biased

RTE could learn a lot from the modern day podcasts, and try to totally revamp the show with something more interactive and with free flowing conversation rather than stale, rehearsed commentary on games.  Plus Des has a point, too many games to fit into one show.  If you want to do the games justice, there probably needs to be a second midweek show of some sort.  Would love to see a Wed or Thurs night preview show of the upcoming weekend games.

They need at least one midweek show, perhaps one to show longer segments of games and one preview magazine type programme. Half the stuff on RTÉ is repeats, this is novel content that they own the rights to, why do they not use it?

Edit: Des on Newstalk with Pat Kenny now. He said that they did not have the rights to show games during the week, only Sunday night. The GAA need to look at this. They should encourage more coverage, for instance when UTV had a programme they couldn't proceed for lack of rights, the GAA should have encouraged them not stopped them.

did he say why or who has the rights
