Said it before that the time allocated at the end of the game should be taken out of the referees hands. Have an independent time keeper who has a set of guidelines for time allocated during the game for subs, injuries etc etc and this additional time is added on at the end and the amount of time is communicated to the ref.

Stop goalkeepers taking free kicks inside the opposition half. It's a complete time wasting excercise.

It's all well and good for delegates to not bother voting because something doesn't affect them directly but they don't know when a similar situation will occur that DOES affect their club.
If you are not happy with the principle of the argument then you should vote against it whether it affects you directly or not. Ultimately all the decisions that are made at county board level will have an affect at some stage sooner or later.
So the 'it doesn't bother me so I don't care' attitude is wrong and detrimental in the long term to all GAA clubs.

The Walsh Cup has been a very worthwhile competition for Laois this year. There are two or three players for sure who got their starts and should keep their place for the league opener. Eoin Fleming in goals is fighting for the no 1 jersey and should retain it. Leigh Bergin has been excellent at full back and the likes of Eanna Lyons, Adrian Corby and others have really stood up for the county. Considering the personnel we have lost over the past 12/18 months it's heartening to see these players come in. Cahir back yesterday and then we have Cha playing brilliant stuff for Carlow IT and we have the rest of the IT contingent to come into the reckoning.
As Kelly said after yesterdays game there are 22 players realistically fighting for the 15 starting places. Competition withing the panel will also drive up the standard.
We all know how important the first two league games will be and particularly the Offaly game under lights in O'Moore Park on the 18th Feb. That should be some battle.

Louth beating Meath by 7 points should be a warning to our lads coming into the league. Meath played with 14 men for the second half but it shouldn't detract from a decent win for the wee county. We will need to be very focused for the game and come out firing from the start. While we were all very happy with the Laois performance last week it shows what we have to do so no complacency.

For years the only man who could put the ball in the net for us. Quite often the only spark for us!

Cha played first half and impressed with 1-04. Picky with 6 points and Rowland and Dwayne Palmer playing.

Padge Conway was brilliant that day from what I recall. He was always able to read the game very well and anticipate where the ball would be. I remember Hughie scoring a monstrous point from under the stand to put us either 3 or 4 points up and thinking 'we're going to beat these' alas not to be and leaving Croke Park that day it was the old cliche of 'leaving it behind us'. We never really looked like winning the replay and Dublin were the better team on the day. The first day was also the first time I really heard the 'Laois, Laois Laois' chant. Like unlaoised said the noise from the Laois people was as good as i'd ever heard in Croke Park. Just another bad luck story in the end. We should count our blessings though as we could be from Mayo and have one of these every year! How do they keep going?

A bit of a non event in the end but a long time since Laois put up such a high score in a competitive game. Leigh Bergin very good at full back and plenty of good performances all over the field. Looking forward to seeing this team in action next week against the Tribesmen.

We all have a vested interest in this and we as supporters are just as bad.

Tough on Laois but cracking comeback. Probably should have tagged on a couple more to make it safe as they had the chances (same ol same ol). Anyhow undefeated in 2017 so far and roll on the league.

Is there much point having a schools team if 1. they don't include certain schools and 2. if they are taking hammerings like today? Mountrath are in the Senior B so what's the point in a schools team playing A if they don't have the Mountrath lads? I can't see the benefit.

Decent comeback from Laois coming up to half time after being 8 points down early on. Reilly tormenting us as usual.

The team that took t othe field today is effectively this years minor team. Very worrying scoreline indeed!
