Galway are at the right pace. If they beat KK then it'll be KK vs the Munster champions in the aisf.
Nobody rated Galway coming into this even though they were finalists last year.

Not a collapse yet, but this half time sleep comes into play... Hopefully Galway can get their momentum going again

Same old story from Galway unfortunately

Milltown Row2

Id went for the evens minus 3 and to be brutally honest I thought id lost that bet for long period, Galway just changed things at half time and have the ability to bring on lads like Hogan Power and co, feck!!! How do teams compete with a bench like that..

Murphy for me is immense

And another change of manager won't turn things around.

Milltown Row2

A manager needs to see how to win both half's..... The players are there for Galway but they cant go missing, Joe has these moments a lot during games.... He along with others need to play for 70 + mins, the Cats were one score away from Galway at halftime after Galway playing so well

Galway would be better without Joe

That could be right.... But who's going to drop him?? He's (when on form) a class act, just goes missing in some games....

Every team knows that Kilkenny are going to move up the gears and start the second half of a match with unbelievable intensity. It's one thing knowing what you're going to meet and another thing to be able to deal with it.
It's not alone the application and workrate, but a team also has to have the real skill to hurl in tight places and tight corners and to win the ball in heavy traffic and to be able to get that ball away.

Doesn't help that Galway basically kept hitting the ball up the field to a crowded Kilkenny defence

Brian Cody would, that's who. Just ask Charlie Carter or DJ Carey.

There's very little sentiment with Brian and the only time I think he showed any was to Shefflin when it was abundantly clear he was injured in 2010 and shouldn't have started.

As for the game itself, Galway were hurling well, but you could just sense that Kilkenny whilst not firing on all cylinders were still in the game. Then with Hogan coming on I think they rattled over 1-3 without reply from the 42nd minute to the 46th minute and the Galway heads went down on far too many players. The miss-hit goal followed by three points in quick succession allied to the the Galway half forwards getting cleaned out in the air meant that the goals that they needed were going to be hard earned although Buckley did flick one off the line, but Eoin Murphy had a quiet enough afternoon and the only other save of note was the tight angle shot from Joe.

Business as usual with big Lennon looking like another younger Jackie Tyrell to fill the breech!

Premier Emperor

Is Joe Canning the most overrated player in the game right now?

Galway actually kept with them well until the last 10 mins

The Galway backs were hounded out of it meaning the ball they played up field was high and random at best.
