Massive weekend .  Wex v Dubs on sat night .  Fancy dublin as wex have a lot of injuries and dublin are better anyway .

The Offaly v Kerry game in the prelim round robin will be massive.  Kerry won in the league in tullamore but I think Offaly will prevail here.

What about Westmeath v Carlow?

Dubs still vulnerable in defence. Missing Peter Kelly all the time

Kelly out for the year with a knee injury and will be a loss to the Dubs who looked decent enough last night, but the Wexford defence was a bit generous in conceding ground to the Dub forwards, neither Dunne nor Cushe were that generous in their playing days

The Wexford basics are just so bad - lifting the ball, catching and covering space.

And so Offaly sally forth into a Leinster Quarter Final against Laois in Tullamore. The Leinster System is bizarre. Westmeath face Galway in Mullingar I presume. Galway would want to be careful there.

Westmeath may not beat Galway but they will give them a right game like they have in the past. Laois beat Westmeath in the relegation playoff a month ago and i would think Ryan didn't really mind who he got although he would have had a preference for Laois if given the choice.
Laois nearly caught Galway twice coming out of the qualifiers and there's no reason Westmeath can't do similar on a tight pitch in Mullingar.

Laois Offaly games are hard call the best of times. You'd think the sight of a Laois jersey would be enough for Offaly added to LAois' awful record in Tullamore where we rarely win. Overall Laois are probably in a better position than Offaly however it's a 50/50 game on paper and very hard to predict what will happen on the day. We'd hope to contain Dooley and Bergin and with a bitta luck our forwards, Dwyer and Hyland particularly, will do enough for the win.
I wouldn't be putting any cash on it though.

The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

Westmeath are better off playing Galway instead of Laois. If any of these 3 teams are going to catch Galway it would be more likely to be on Galways first day out. Once Galway get a win under their belt they will harder to beat.

Paperwork not to blame for Chin absence, says Wexford GAA
23 May 2016

Wexford's Lee Chin

Wexford GAA has rubbished reports that Lee Chin missed Wexford's Leinster SHC quarter-final defeat by Dublin on Saturday because of an administrative error.

Rumours have been circulating since that the former dual star could have played after recovering from a knee injury, but a clerical error resulted in his named being left out of the match day squad. A new rule introduced by the GAA last year requires that a 26-man squad list must be submitted by 9am on the Thursday before a game. With the exception of a replacement for a goalkeeper or sub-goalkeeper, no changes can be made to the registered list.

The penalty for including a player not included on the registered list is a sideline ban for the manager and/or a maximum fine of €1,000 for the county board.

"Lee Chin was not fit on Wednesday evening and the squad list was submitted on Thursday at 9am. Later on Thursday, Lee Chin was passed fit by the medical team but by then it was too late [to add him] and he was unable to take part," Wexford secretary Margaret Doyle told the Irish Independent.

That's utter bollox if its true. Why if there was any possibility of him being fit did they should have named him on the panel anyway, plus what materialised from the Wednesday to the Thursday so that he was all of a sudden fit!!

Laois were a missed penalty away from beating Galway in the Leinster Championship a couple of years ago.
Hopefully Westmeath can go one step further and beat them.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Well, sort of. The last puck of the game was a 21 yard free, with about 10 Galway lads on the line, and Leix down by two points. The odds were stacked against him, and it was duly saved. Certainly not like the one on one scenarios nowadays!

Westmeath won't get within 8 points of Galway
