Lads what players do we want back on the panel and what could be done to keep the turnover low eg Monaghan...

Players I'd like to see in/back are David Givney (in England) Kevin Meehan (music doesn't help), Paul Graham and maybe Andy, Eugene Keating, Gerry Smith(available again after exams), Fergal Flanagan (available again too after masters),  Paul Smith (working closer to home now), Brian O Connell, Jack Brady, Niall McDermot, Colm Smith, Conor Smith, Thomas Galligan, Niall McKiernan and Dillon. Maybe have forgot some.

Is Paul Smith not based in Donegal? Like to see Argue too. But serious work on S and C to be done. Losing Maguire last year was a real loss but I believe Corry is very good at what he does. Just need real buy in. Galway hit the league hot and it did wonders for them.

Paul Smith transfered to Monaghan.

RTE is probably the worst channels on tv atm. Production value is brutal and it's like a step back in time. Streaming player is worthless.

I personally couldn't care less if they speak to them or not.

Forget your tyrone prejudices. Rte is one of a small number of free to air channels available in Ireland. It's the best of those channels by far in terms of content. There are lots of people who cannot afford sky, virgin or any of the pay tv options which can be very expensive. Rte is an essential public broadcaster which provides a very good service in the main. I have a couple of elderly aunts and uncles who live in the south and they totally rely on rte.

It's not free to air.

It is in the North!!

Not in South. Well it's free for about 25% of people who don't bother paying the fee.

That's some list of players that would create a very strong squad. Training would be improved as a result.

Mickey was ratified last night with McCabe and Corey.

We had a result in Cavan Junior Championship this weekend where Mountnugent bet Corlough 10 22 to 1 4. Mountnugent would not be considered one of the favourites so was a shocking scoreline. Any other counties have similar?

A long time since Jamie Redknapp has seen a United side lacking the desire to get back into the game? In reality United have been lacking that desire since 2013.

Have to agree with Gary Neville, poor signings on top of more poor signings so many players playing for United now that are simply not good enough.

Gary Neville described the period from 2003 to around 2006 as the 'Djemba Djemba years'. What could you label the years from 2013 to date?

Post Ferguson?

I was hoping for a wittier description.

Give it ta Giggsy era.

Good article by Alan Brogan on how the game has changed in a decade. The youtube video of the game he refers to is worth looking at and the contrast in playing style and most notably how muted crowds have become at matches. There is very little ebb and flow to gaelic football anymore, just plenty of crowd conversation as the ball is filtered sideways in possession for long spells. The atmosphere then at the big matches was more akin to hurling now which has maintained is excitement levels.

You got an advantage to attack if you caught the kickout and later Whelan was surrounded when he landed.

Damien Donohoe on Twitter saying announcement potentially made this evening and it's looking like Mickey  Graham

Best of luck to him. Hopefully gets the Gaels lads to go in. Dermot McCabe with him and Martin Corey too I heard. Corey is class.

From a Cavan perspective the 1997 All Ireland semi when we missed a simple goal chance in second half.

2004 versus Armagh in Ulster semi when we had Pierce McKenna sent of after 30 seconds for an air punch on Francie. Ger Pierson nearly chipped Hearty to win it.

The last three defeats to Monaghan in Ulster. The first by a point when we should have had a free in at end, then another by a point with Monaghan's bench being the difference plus an incorrect black card for Martin Reilly and last year by a goal with us hitting the post at end.
