Quote from: seafoid on January 03, 2024, 05:34:09 PMIf Liverpool win this year or in the next decade  they will catch up with Man Utd on the Roll of Honour. Another win and they would knock Man Utd off their f*****g perch (copyright A Ferguson). The likelihood of Man Utd fighting back is homeopathic.
Liverpool are ahead of Man Utd in the Roll of Honour

This was entirely speculation by the Irish government, there was never any thought by the British government of a unilateral withdrawal.

Not quite, at the moment it is just for the Republican primary.

What a mess...

Jay Monahan is one of the stupidest people on the planet. How he allowed this to happen is beyond me. He should be the next strategist for the DUP.
How can he stop it, they are offering crazy amounts of money.

From 2008 through 2010 all 9 counties competed in a highly seeded competition. In 2011 Cavan dropped out and in 2012 it was back to only the stronger counties.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on November 22, 2023, 11:21:50 AMDoes anyone still have house phone? Ours broke down about 10 years ago, we haven't replaced it
We ported our land line number to Google Voice, don't think that is available outside the US. This meant we kept the old number which we attached to an old cell phone with no SIM card that is on wifi at home. We still get the occasional call, mostly junk, except for some calls from the NYC schools system which still has the number for our kids.

Quote from: Sportacus on November 21, 2023, 06:05:39 PMNot singling out SF, but the irony of politicians coming out today one after another to express their concern at bank closures in small towns. Whatever the rights and wrongs, they have lost the right to criticise when all they do is sit around getting paid to do nothing apart from bicker.  A press release is a good days work in their wee world.
That's due to one party and their drug dealing bosses. Not SF or SDLP or Alliance or any other party.
Although it was SF last time.  But that's not what I'm driving at.  I just find them all a bunch of amateurs.

+1

Nobody has a good opinion of politicians.

Maybe they think one or two work hard on their behalf etc. but as a colletive, they get no thanks.

That's the way it works, the world over.  Ireland is no different.

Where do politicians rank? Worse than bankers, estate agents or traffic wardens???

If we could only find out who elected the politicians into the positions they hold.

When have either of them demonstrated impartiality
