Against big full forwards who arent full of pace (e.g. Donaghy), he'd still be the best man we have to cope. But there arent too many Donaghy's playing full forward at the mo (of course that may change). Most teams don't play traditional full forwards, in which case I'd go with a full back line of SOS, Henry and Griff.

I hear Whelan is giving the league a miss, so there will presumably be some experimentation there. I remember lynchbhoy suggesting Barry Cahill for midfield - I think he'd work out well there.

Donncha Reilly from Skerries might challenge for a wing back position. I hear Peadar has retired due to work committments.....

I hope Jason gives it another year, he still has plenty to offer. But as said above, I'd like to see Vaughan and BBrogan get chances.

[Divisions 1A and 1B]

Does anyone have a link or know for definite how the national leagues will work next year??? I was under the impression that the top four in 1A & 1B go into the new Division 1 and the bottom 4 in 1A & 1B go into Division 2. However on the Slasher thread they're talking about going straight into Division 2 if they finish first or second in 2A!!! Help.....

Divisions 1A and 1B
Top 4 - Division 1
5th and 6th - Division 2
7th and 8th - Division 3

Divisions 2A and 2B
1st and 2nd - Division 2
3rd and 4th - Division 3
Bottom 4 - Division 4

...which all makes sense. You'd expect the top team in 2A to be in a higher division the followinf year than the bottom team in 1A.

I do think its time for this membership to let itself be known to the general public. I'm sure it is not a clandestine association for nothing. They are a cancer within the GAA (along with a few others I might add) and the sooner they do their business in public the better, but I think we all know that is not going to happen

I was at all but the mayo matches bar the london match and dillon and mortimer were both better player over the course of the season.
Sillon was our best player and mort did the scoring.

You forgot the "in my opinion" bit.
Its funny that despite Dillon being the better player all year, he didnt get half the stick for not performing in the final.

I thought Bellew did reasonably well on Donaghy, although obviously in the end Donaghy got the better of him. I thought the yellow card was a 50/50 decision, could have gone either way. Also in their duel, Donaghy got more assistance from his teammates than Francie did.

Dublin get their first All Stars in 4 years and still people come out with this thrash.

Must have been nobody talking about Dublin last year when they became the first Leinster champions to receive no All Star awards. Nobody must talk about Ciaran Whelan that he's only got one award in 11 years. Or maybe the mythical overhyping that is so hyped by many culchies actually makes it harder for Dubs to get All Stars...

I didnt see all Mayo games during the year, but I saw a few. And while Dillon and Mort had good years, I thought McDonald contributed more than either. He's another who suffers at the hands of begrudgers, when he's brilliant he's brilliant, when he's not brilliant he's shíte.

Brolly was one the original 25 lads who met to set up the GPA (90% of whom were Ulstermen incidentally). He'd a fallen out with somebody over something and left. His comments on the GPA are motivated by personal grudge rather than an effort at constructive analysis or criticism.
