I think you've misunderstood me. My point is, that as there is no discrimination in relation to the figures, i.e. they just reflect the demographics, they are not newsworthy, and by virtue of making them news, the implication is that there is discrimination.

Of course that's why Catholics are paid more. But the article doesn't mention any of those reasons. It merely leaves the fact hanging to let the less educated form their own conclusions, which is potentially inflammatory, especially when you consider the unionist siege mentality, and all they consider they have lost since equal rights came in.
