St John's have a standout under 21 team who should give the Creggan (Ulster) tournament a real crack this year.

But the Johnnies have had great underage teams too over the years and didn't kick on. There's something about this group that makes me think most of them might hang around and push on for a senior title in the next few years. A lot of them are second or third generation and I think that makes a big difference.

They are a great team but in my day the Johnnies had a similar team in Wilson, Mclarnon and the rest of a great team.. think they won one senior title

QuoteWould you agree it would have been the same in any stadium? No anti Irish think you are making that bit up, huge generalization.

I agree that it would happen in any stadium ... in England.  I also think that if it was an Italian or French or a player from any other nationality other than Ireland who would not wear the poppy, there'd be no more said about it, it would be a non-story.  There's an ongoing campaign against James McClean who is obviously proud to be Irish and wants no part in their jingoistic rituals relating to centuries of war-mongering around the globe, if he was anything other than Irish, there'd be no mention of it ... in  my opinion.

I'd say all the Irish players in the EPL are proud to be Irish, what other nationalities do is up to them. Anyone wearing one does so because they want to, that's simple.... You are giving off about people giving off!! If James was born in the Waterside he'd be playing for N.Ireland and wearing two poppies' and you'd be giving off... Thankfully that's it for another year, we can find something to offend us pretty quick

Fair play to James McClean, he's made his position very clear from the outset, stands by his believes and won't compromise them for anyone.  The fact that he doesn't wear one in no way denigrates or insults those who died in the two world wars, why should it.  However, the blatant anti-Irish sentiments in the press and in Old Trafford yesterday under the guise of the poppy issue need to be questioned.

Would you agree it would have been the same in any stadium? No anti Irish think you are making that bit up, huge generalization.

Hey MR get off that fence the splinters must be killing ya  ;)  ;D

To be fair I'm all for change every 4 years regardless .... been calling that for years.. if someone is putting their heart and soul into a project like the county executive then they would lose a bit of passion... that's just my view

Seen dancers on strictly not wearing them... On BBC ffs!! Will be public hangings outside Buckingham palace
They're seemed to be a bit of inconsistency. Some were wearing them earlier in the week when they showed their preparations for the night but they weren't wearing them on the Saturday night show.
The Irish dancer Tristan McManus didn't wear one at all.

But you'd have imagined for the live show it would be a priority?? But sure people are giving off about people wearing them and people giving off for not wearing them!! Who's right depends on how and where you were brought up... An accident of birth

Sie make no mistake I'm no fan of Kevin Ryan and he has to shoulder some of the blame no doubt but it wouldn't matter if we replaced him with Pj, Manley or Cody we'd still have big problems that we can only fix as a county.
My argument to that JJ is that the county have to shoulder some of the blame... We all do in some respects.. How much effort do we collectively put in? I've neglected putting something back into the club for a while (though some would think that's a good thing  :-[ ) but I'll be back after this refereeing lark... As Skull has said on numerous occasions and I see it everytime I'm at a clubs refereeing, its the same faces doing the same jobs for most parts...and that's because getting fresh blood on board is tough... Hopefully a bitta freshness along with some of the decent older ones can make a difference

Sometimes plans don't work out. Are we now going to castigate someone for having a plan? Surely it would be folly to not have a plan?

The selection plan didn't work out either it seems

I see that the ref made no reference to the alleged bite. Surely if he was shown something during the game as serious as was alleged he would have had to refer to it even if he could do nothing about it.

Did you ever think this was true?
