I seem to recall Breheny, taking a break from bemoaning the emptiness of Croke Park on big rugby days in D4, saying that Tyrone have never had an outside manager. In football.

John Donnelly managed Tyrone in the 90's.
Fermanagh man
Did he not play for Trillick?
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either

Captained Fermanagh in the 1970s.
Originally from Coa
Did play for Trillick as he moved there..
Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

Fermanagh man

John Donnelly played for Trillick long enough to be considered a Tyrone man, the same way that Malachy O'Rourke's residency in the Clogher Valley will make him one of our own when his time comes.

Given he captained Fermanagh I think he has to be viewed as an outsider.

Where are the gaps?

John O'Mahony is from Kilmovee which is in Co. Mayo now, was in Co. Mayo 1898 and always played its football in Mayo. As far as I am aware, he didn't harbour a secret desire to play for the Rossie Globebussers.

When was the last Westmeath man? I know Dessie Dolan Snr has been a candidate, and I know there's been a fair few backroom guys from Westmeath, like Ollie Keating from Athlone. Actually, maybe the incident between him and Dessie Dolan Jnr is the reason why there's been no Westmeath managers recently :)

Derry - Brian Mullins & Brian McIver

Brian Mullins was a terrible manager from what I can remember and McIver at least is there at the minute and can do something about his poor record thus far!

twohands!!!

The insider only counties so are

Football
Down
Dublin
Kerry
Cork

Although Dublin have Tommy Lyons and Cork have Larry Tompkins, who look a bit questionable

Hurling
Kilkenny
Tipperary
Cork

Where are the gaps?

Derry's and Donegal's current managers are outsiders

you reckon?

Brian Mullans for a couple of years in the 90's would be Derry's only blow in...cant think of any others
See the other replies, he is a Tyrone man.
