Gave up posting on this site a year or so ago , lurked I suppose is what they call it ever since  . Just thought I'd throw my tuppence worth into the current debacle .The witch hunt for POR and Ross/DJ , that happened to some extent on this board is nothing compared to the shite that's gone on  here since the shambles in Wexford .

Personal attacks on Managers & County Board members , posters abusing other posters ,  what the feck is going on ? We are all Down supporters , so loosing matches is no stranger to any of us . In our pomp of course we would not of lost games to  Antrim , Longford , Sligo , Tipperary , Roscommon , Wicklow , Wexford  etc but we are not in our pomp and when were we ever ?The 60's and a spell in the 90's . We have serious tickets on ourselves , we are not The Aristocrats , we are an average team at the best of times and it gives me no pleasure to say that .

After the top 3/4 teams in the country we are in the chasing pack and along way down that chasing pack . Div 1 next year is punching way above our current weight and it will be a short stay at the top table .It's time for a rebuild in Down from the ground up but the only way that will happen is if people come together , ripping the shite out of men that are in there doing their best  with the various teams and amongst ourselves on this board   will only divide us and set us back further .

I know it's always raw after a bad Championship exit but  I also  know that by the time McKenna Cup comes around again , the posters on this board will be filled again with the optimism of an other year . Keep the faith .

Anyone ever suffer from Plantar fasciitis (joggers heel ) ? What can you do get rid of it ? Appreciate any help .

Stretch your achilles tendon before running - lots of heel-drops always helped me with that.  I didn't have your condition, but (football-related) wrecked ankle-joints.  If you've had achilles injuries you'll need to get rid of any remaining scar tissue through physiotherapy or physical therapy.

I was complaining to a mate of mine that my knees are shot to bits, he put me onto Glucosamine Sulphate , been taking them for about a month now and I have seen improvement , hopefully they continue to improve . Just passing it on here , might work for some of you .

Well done Donegal , absolute teamwork and a man with a plan, enjoy it you have earned it .
Hard lines to Mayo , an other team would have folded the tent after the second goal but this one didn't and will surely be back . Enjoyable game for the neutral and Spillane trying a touch of Spanish was comedy gold .

That's sad news for the fella and for all Down fans . A super footballer and one that will be very hard replaced . All the best Dee .

Anyone going to the big tent Monday night ? Anyone know any good pubs down there that you might get a bit of SKA or Reggae before the gig ? I have heard that An Cruscian Lan is the place to go afterwards .
Should be a great night and probably the last time to see The Specials in Ireland , so anyone that is going , enjoy !

Best - Lat 5 minutes of the 1994 hurling final. I was on the Hill, and remember being literally on my knees giving praise as Timmy Dooley fired over the insurance scores. Went from ultimate low to ultimate high in seconds.

Worst - Hmm. There's been a few. I'm inclined to nominate the disastrous qualifer trip to Wexford a good few years ago in the football, when Mattie Forde ate us alive, and Wexford paraded the Leinster SH Cup at half time. I wasn't in Tullamore for the capitulation against Down thankfully. I was there, however, for the godawful game versus Westmeath when Offaly attempted to counteract Westmeath's defensive ploy by playing a cunning 3 extra defenders as well!. Ended up like rugby league, and Westmeath deservedly won handy. All in all though, I'm going to plump for that awful day when we truly realised the good days in hurling were gone, and how far behind the top table we had slipped,  and that Kilkenny were truly awesome. 2005, in Croke Park, and a 31 point hiding. At one stage Kilkenny were drawing with the time of day. A good score when you consider it was half 5 in the evening. Cill Ceannaigh 6-28 read the scoreboard in the Canal End, right beside the clock which said 5:31. Unreal hammering. The announcer said there was an early train leaving Heuston for the Offaly fans who wished to catch it.

We've come back a bit since then, but how far I'm not sure. I hate to admit it, but Kilkenny might well give us a similar trimming if they were really up for it.

When I was reading this thread earlier I thought of that game , after a hammering like that the Offaly fans in the stand that evening were a credit to their county . I even said to a lady on the way out that they surley are the faithful county , see clapped her lads off the pitch . My aul fella had often told us that the  Offaly team and supporters were great people , I left Tullamore thinking the same . Thanks Offaly  :P
