I think the difference between both Tyrone and Armagh fans these days is that they expect it to be a long summer with loads more matches as we have both been spoiled this last 4 or 5 years with numerous trips to Croker. Lots of replays and back door route.

This costs a lot of money these days, especially for families with children as its the whole day out, petrol, lunch, drinks, tickets, snacks for kids, clamping fines, dinner and not home til 8pm usually. Also single lads tend to spend the weekend on the tear then too which is expensive if in Dublin.

If its on the telly you think to yerself maybe I'll wait til they get to the semi or the final.
In 2005 I went to 9 outta the 10 Tyrone games and am glad I did but can't see me getting a licence from the wife this year, NOT that I might be needing it anyway on recent performance.

It's the first year in ages I detect the Armagh fans finally beginning to believe they are there for the taking but looking at that Full Forward line I'm not so sure. The half back line looks strong too.

Good luck on Sunday and we await the winners in the Semi . I think I'd prefer Donegal this year as the wife is from there and that should liven up the atmoshere for the next few weeks. Its on, on our anniversary but I'll be in Clones.

As that Chelsea fan said last Sat from the Ivory Coast, he loves his Mum 1st, then Drogba and then his wife. I don't know his ma but I dont like Drogba much either.

I think if Armagh play Marsden, McDonnel and Oisin in the FF line then Donegal will have their work cut out
Suppose it depends on quality of ball going into them

Thought Donegal's midfield v Mayo in NFL final was very dominant.

On another note
Does anyone think that clubs should ask members to retain ticket stubs and use this later in the season (If required of course) to prioritise ticket allocation after committee, players etc.

What height and age is Tommy MCGuigan?

Saw on Aertel last night that they say
Despite reports to the contrary Brian McGuigan will not take any part in this years Ulster championship.

Does Brian have a nickname by the way?

Of course we're all biased but there does seem to be a lot of poor referees out there who's decisions must be very frustrating to players.
Especially as we continue to do the swarm thing around a player and TRY to not foul him and so then when the ref gives the free at least 3 or 4 of them start whinging at the Ref.

I noticed Fermangh and actually a few other teams exploit this now by taking a very quick free. Noticed Block several times Hop uf after winning a free as if he was gonna deck someone but actually take a very quick free as men were outta postion.

I'd nearly be happier to see us stop this swarming tactic and at most have 2 men around a player.
Teams have become wise to it and so usually one or two forwards sit back and wait for the ball to come out to them where they have acres of space to shoot.

Come On Mickey Get the team to stop whinging and either get Ricey to wise up or leave him out.
I agree he can be the best man marker in the country but not on recent performances.

Iceman don't be coming on here calling the pot black about dirty defenders. At least we can admit when someone is dirty and not go way OTT and make them a Goddess, with their own website etc, just because he makes a habit of it busting forwards jaws.

If your team are renouned for being dirty f**kers then have some wit and shut yer gob about other teams.
I know Tyrone can be guilty of DIVING sometimes but I know NOT to mention it on here to justify that its correct cos others do it.

If you read the board often enough you would see most people agree Ricey is OTT and although he can be a GREAT man marking defender like Francie, he too often goes OTT.

Do you think high and late tackles are drummed into the Armagh team (NOTE how to spell your own county ya muppet)
I suspect they might be. Especially tactical late 3rd man tackles same to be yer speciality since 2002.

Yeah that is truly truly sad
:'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(
but sure you'll soon be back to your own wee caravan site of Clones.

At least ye are now the best supported team in the country after the Dubs.
At least for 2 more games this year.

I think Donegal better build that wall around aul Donegal a bit higher before the Orange Army come with their Buckies this weekend.
Ballybofey dads lock up yer daughters as they are about to get Tango-ed.

I predict a riot!!!

Holy sh*t what did they stick into his eye?
Can he not see anything outta it at all since it happened?

Are they hopeful he will regain full sight then?

Incident packed first game which showed up our weaknesses and strengths big time and we will have loads
to work on for the next game.

Thought Devine did well with MOST of his kickouts and often went short though did do at least one over the sideline
The time he came out though thru his FB reminded me a bit like Packie. Think I prefer him to Packie now. Just about.

Cant understandd why Ricey was whinging when he went off. Just cos your Vice Captain doesnt mean you're too good
to be taken off. Think he needs a reality check as his head is getting too big and as soon as he got the black card
I immediately said take him off now. Good man Mickey. We've loads of good defenders and Ricey is gonna lose us a game
Some time with his foolish needless behaviour with his ego coming first.

Cavanagh was excellent again alrite and noticed he was passing the ball a lot more than usual.
We need to get two settled free takers and not have this indecision of "Ah you hit this wan then"
I'd much prefer to see a left and right footed free taker from the ground as too many misjudge from the hand.
I thought McCullagh would have been the right footed free taker.

Thought Gormley ended the game well but think he was lucky to have been left on as long as he was.
He's lively and wins good ball for himself but his shooting was very poor up until he hit those two very
difficult efforts.

All in all I was very disappointed with our efforts and although we should improve, I think we are away of the mark
and unless we improve HUGELY then we're in for a lesson next game.

Must say was very frustrated with Referee too but we must learn to shut up no matter what and have noticed since
2003 we have become whingers and Harte needs to get this across. How many times in the last few years have we
drawn matches or lost cos a free was brought forward into a scoring position. This must stop. Its Never worth it.

BTW I think Dooher has the legs and watch him get better. He was awesome for us against EC but I know County is a step up. He'll be fine but a wee bit slower.
I think McGinley will struggle too against any descent FF. Is Joey injured again or just being fat and lazy?

Any more news on Brian McGuigan. BBC were very positive about him last nite as was his brother. First time I saw
Tommy playing. He does look handy enough. Was he being rested during NFL or has he just come good in recent weeks
training?

€25 seems mad alrite. I wasnt at it as just back from Stag do in Edinburgh but thought the attendance for a
sunny day was terrible. Have Tyrone fans given up on watching us any more or was it cos it was on telly.

Tyroneman I think that's a good summary and to be honest I think we have the talent and now the experience but if you're not fitter than your opponent then he will get the ball into his hands more than you and if you dont have the ball you wont get the scores.

We've never had a hugley dominant Midlfield but in 2003 & 2005 we had breaking ball to a tee all over the pitch.
We often recycled ball again and again and with so much possession you can create up to 20/30 scoring chances in a game.

Remember Ulster final 2003 v Down where they scored 3 goals but we still had enough possession to come back and equalise.

I think now loads of teams stop us running out of defense with the ball and Refs a bit more cute Not giving us easy frees we often lose possession or overcarry.

I see Cork have a big 6'7'' FF now this year and I think that unless we can make space for our FF line and hit them quicker faster balls in then we will see a repeat of swarm football in out own half back line. I hate this sideways passing about til someone else gets a hand in.

I've a feeling we're gonna see Mickey surprising a few people with his selection.

I reckon he's gonna go for

Devine
Ricey
Holmes
Gourley
Harte
Block
Jordan
Cavanagh
Hughes
Dooher
Cavlan
Mulgrew
Gormley
Cavanagh
Mulligan.

Injuries permitting
Wont be surprised if Stevie is on the bench or if McCullagh starts if Mugsy or Mulgrew doesnt.

Hughes better sort himself out discipline wise.

I can't believe ye are back discussing this AGAIN.

I wasnt on the Discussion board in 2003 and so when I first heard this mentioned in 2005 I couldn't believe there was any issue with Marsden's punch on Jordan.
Of course he charged at him but it was Marsden who lifted is fist and PUNCHED him.

If someone did this to you would you not go down holding your face?

I've saw Francie go down a few times rather easily to get a free out.
I'd love to hear COMPLETE Neutrals point of few on this Marden v Jordan topic but I couldnt be bothered opening a new thread for it.

Aye lay off the Poor Dubs.
They're like England in the World cup

You'd hate to see them win it but the longer they stay in the more craic there is.
There's no better atmosphere in Croker than when your team are beating the Dubs.

The crack in the pubs and their soccer style songs are unique and although I hated the Omagh Battle I think their fans are sorely missed when they go out.

Interesting reading the Kerry posters thread re. their TRUE feelings to Tyrone
Remember last year they were all
"We dont care about Tyrone as we are the Kingdom and we have nothing to prove against them"

Sounds a little Different 6 months later when the dust has settled.

Super Dooper Cooper says...

Biggest Threat: TYRONE.......I speak for all Kerry fans when I say we want another shot at Tyrone. Until we beat Tyrone a question will remain unanswered. Down are the only county Kerry have played but never beaten in the Championship (0/4) and while the record with Tyrone (1/2) is not as bad the longing to beat (this) Tyrone team is nearly as bad as Mayo's longing to beat us. Outside Tyrone take your pick Cork, Dublin, Armagh, Mayo don't think Donegal have done enough to be included in the elite group yet. Not the open championship everyone else is predicting.

I'd say they'd love another go at us but with a full squad to pick from.
This team wont get the respect it deserves until it wins an AI with no PTG influence as so called neutrals will always be waiting with that line in the wings.

Does anyone know how the actual injury occurred?
Who was the Aghyaran player who did it?

Sounds like he'll be out for another 2 months at least though eye injuries are very delicate and could be a long term problem.

Was there any more of you at that match yesterday?

Is it true then that 2 Aghyaran players intentionally took him out or was it more of an accident?
Was he playing rings round them then.

Was there any backlash afterwards?
