Jota being injured a huge loss. The amount of minutes the front 3 are clocking up is bound to be taking its toll which may explain the lack of bite in the attack.

It's United's to lose now.

City ahead of United won't be much in game Sunday week. Southampton in fairness to them defended fairly well tonight and should have ahead a 2nd goal near the end.
Wouldn't get too carried away with the loss.

I still think Liverpool to win it. I said City would be second, but nowhere near winning it really. Even though United are inconsistent, I fancy them to finish above City. I don't see anything to fear in that City side.

They just look short on ideas going forward when faced with a packed defense. Too slow, not enough movement and slickness to break the lines and create space.

Corner at the end summed them up tonight, last seconds of the game they play a short corner and it nearly ends up back at the half way line.
f**king thing should have been wipped in straight into the box ffs.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

They definitely need a rest. Play the second string against Villa and leave Mane, Salah etc out of the squad altogether.

When did Liverpool last not play a 2nd string side for a FA Cup 3rd tie?

Think playing Henderson at centre half failed badly tonight

Utd have to play 3 times before the game at Anfield, Liverpool once...  Play a strongish team in the cup, it might be just the tonic ya need?

That grass looked a bit long tonight.  Good wins against Spurs and Palace should have been the springboard to better performances than the ones in the past few matches. A lot of huffing and puffing but no clear chances being made.  Salah and Firmino have been very poor. Maybe those 2 have hit the wall a bit.  At least Mane has been putting in a good shift but without getting much of a return. Will probably take Thiago a couple of games to get back to match fitness.  Jota badly needed back.  Don't really want to see Henderson at centre back again.  Seem to be coming up against teams each week now that are defending for their lives against us. Southampton will probably concede 4 in their next game.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Eh?? He wasn't at fault for the goal!

He wasn't great but he wasn't why they were beaten they were toothless up front and have been in for the past month beaten and why they've been struggling the last few games.

Is that the Liverpool equivalent of 'the players couldn't see each other in the grey shirts'?  ;D

We have been shite recently . But you could look on the bright side. We've been without half our team and every VAR decision has went against us, compared to every VAR decision going for United. We should be atleast 10 points clear by now, but we're still there.

The other lads he's used at center back don't have the pace and Klopp knew Southampton had pace in their attack (barring Ings) and had to cut his cloth to suit but not having Henderson in the middle was a loss to them, no doubt.

The style of play Liverpool like is the high energy press and they've been fantastic at it for the last couple of seasons and barring Diogo and Alcântara this year (the other lad they bought really hasn't added much) it's been the same bunch of lads busting their balls time and time again and that's taken it's toll, mentally as much as physically.

Still think they'll win the league as everyone is dropping points on the way.

That's their main problem. Decent players who don't seem to make bad decisions but one on one they don't have the pace.
