Quote from: Keyser soze on Today at 09:25:24 AMBit shocked that there has only been one person who has been out selling for his club out of all the purported great gaa men on here.

Plenty of people on to comment and whinge though, sums up the gaaboard perfectly I spose.

I've a couple in the drawer here in work that I get sucked into buying, but hey ho that's needed for all clubs, so when Sean or Paddy comes in for a check up. I'll return the favour  ;)

Quote from: Look-Up! on Today at 07:00:22 AMRatcliffe making a lot of noise for a minority stakeholder. Cut all the perks of the staff for FA cup final day just before a swanky lunch for the players' WAGs, all paid for by the club. Nice.

Staff are getting 1 ticket and have to pay £20 for the bus? They have 1,100 staff! as for the dinner, seems that's been a tradition going back to Busby.

I hope they beat Arsenal this weekend  ;D
Man City or any other club gets to a cup final, it's common to give a ticket plus one and pay for lunch and transport on what's a very special occasion. Mean act to take that away from regular staff. I think the problems and imbalance of power at OT will not be sorted out by taking Betsy from the canteen down a peg or two.
Bit of unnecessary chest pumping from the man with the new hat. Lets see how he gets on with the real job.

I'm sure if he is just a minority stakeholder then he'd have a minority call on such things? I'm sure if Betsy isn't happy at work she'll find another canteen to work in

Quote from: Christmas Lights on May 09, 2024, 11:22:00 PMIt's just really a procession at this stage.  If Cargin went all out, they win the league.  They will cruise to another championship this year.  There is nobody stopping them.  We are watching Man City like dominance and its hard to know where it will end.

When they get to Ulster?

Only joking  ;D

Quote from: Níl a fhios agam on May 09, 2024, 01:44:09 PMTrue. Dont blame any team which are depleted keeping score down and credibility against the likes of Cargin, Casements and Creggan at the moment.

Also seen St.galls where pipped by TNN. after a promising start, Galls surely disappointed at that result. TNN havent been good, though their hurlers are doing rightly

Its the same team nearly for Randalstown, as it is for Clooney..

Tir na Og beat St Enda's last week and have 3 less points than the leaders, so not sure they share your thoughts on 'havent been good'

Quote from: seafoid on May 09, 2024, 01:28:19 PMIf Israel get to the final it will be nuts. It would be easy enough to manipulate public voting, I presume.

I'd say that will be the lowest scoring Eurovision points they'll ever get

Quote from: bannside on May 03, 2024, 06:09:29 PM100% SO82 about those two!

Let's just say their progress has been noted! Two of our best performers in last years narrow under 20 defeat to Donegal on penalties in Ballybofey..
Add Cahir Donnelly and Johnny Hannon to the promising U20 players above, both v impressive in Cargin v Aghagallon game last night. Not a dig, but Aghagallon quite negative throughout which made Johnnys coring performance all the more impressive.

With the team they had out It's difficult to 'open' up against such a talented Cargin team away from home?

Quote from: Rossfan on May 09, 2024, 12:33:12 PMToo hot to be looking up the playing rules in T.O....

You make a forward mark, signal you're taking it,  can you punch the ball over the bar or must it be kicked?

You'd need to be on glue to fist the ball over the bar when calling a mark. Even if that is allowed I'd be calling that one up

Personally I let it continue a 'good' 5 seconds in those critical areas (goal scoring ops) and other than him committing an aggressive foul himself or literally taking the piss in steps I'll bring back for the original

2 games in a row now (football) lads and management are still unsure of the rules for even the basics that have been about for years.

As David has said many times, its not a black and white set of rules, it is in most parts down to the ref's interpretation of the rules which largely pisses people off, but that's the way it is currently until a review is done to tidy it up

Before the advantage rule we used to have the 'slow' whistle which allowed us to give a player a chance to 'break' free of a challenge and possibly set up play, or score.  Sort of stuck on both now lol!

I've worked out over the years that the control buttons on the remote for the TV allow you to turn over and not be offended, it also works for Stephen Nolan

No love for them at all as a club, but some nights it just was never going to be.

Didn't score over both legs against the 5th best team in Germany this season. I don't think too many will be sad to see another soulless club fail to reach the Champions League final.  Before the Qatari takeover they played in the Champions league/European cup only a handful of times and it was mainly group stage or early round exits for them.

Think they only won the division once or twice before that
