I think my earlier post about Armagh shutting up shop and holding out when 4 up on the 54th minute meant I love dour shite, but I loved that game yesterday in terms of lads letting rip.

It was bizarre though the amount of bodies back and still not enough pressure on kickers. Both sides had men in the forwards who were on fire from distance and yet the defence packed back in and around the D and looked as another boomer swung over.

I know it's harsh but 4 clear in the 54th minute of a game where there were a lot of bodies back...
That game should have been put to bed by Armagh.

And they had legs coming off the bench too. Even if both teams looked set up defensive with bodies back a lot of the scores were not under massive pressure.

That being said the striking from distance was top class.

I know social media isn't real but a lot of the bots and pro-Israel accounts are really attacking Bambie Thug. Essentially is this what we are exposing our poor kids to?

Of course, 'won't someone think of the children!' doesn't extend to the ones in Gaza...

The thing is with Wicklow they threw so much into that Kildare match after the earlier win it may have broken them a bit.

Waterford might be the same after a big win in Munster and then the loss. Leitrim beat them, but they would not be the strongest in a neutral spot.

Down are rightly favourites, but if Kildare can build up some confidence and momentum it does swing back to them. We did manage to cut out so many stupid errors and actually went for goals.

Andrew was a golden boy for GB News and all the Tory loving press.

Great start for Kildare and a small bit of confidence will go a long way.

The one issue I'd have is that RTÉ are 50% and that is licence fee, and these days state funded. The GAA also gets state funding, so we are paying twice.

Sky didn't get licence fee or any help and their product was top notch.

The thing I could not understand in Armagh v Down (and I only saw the 1st half) was that any time Armagh put any kind of pressure Down were rattled and coughed up turnovers. But they didn't do it for vast amounts of time.

In Kildare there will be a hope that Geezer might come back, but in all our time we didn't beat a solid Div 1 team when it mattered. It seems to be the same in Ulster for him. I was trying to check, but what is Geezer's Ulster record as it stands?

Like Donegal are not long on their new journey and if they win it, it's a bonus. Armagh seem to be coming towards the end, but there have been times already when it was said.

1200! Ah it doesn't help the falling off narrative, but people are not going to travel down to Carlow or Kilkenny, so it'll do...

In terms of Tailteann overall, the actual Sam Maguire barely gets any fresh or fun promos so wasn't expecting much. I just want a win and then build on something...

Any Longford lads have any insights?

Ah Kildare have gone back and in those games we had Ben McCormack and Neil Flynn too. They got 16 points between them in the two games. Our subs v Louth looked like U16s coming in.

Glenn and the lads are just dug in now and have never sorted the fact that we can be walked through and we actually bottle ourselves up in the forwards.

I honestly still have no clue what style of play we are even trying.

Kildare v Roscommon and Monaghan last year is when they actually do OK, when teams fancy beating them and it opens up a bit they somehow find something.
BUT, when it's a dogged game and they have to actually move a defence around they are fecked. 4/1 are decent odds, but Fermanagh were much better than us already this year.

Exactly, let lads fill their boots a bit too and get a few quid for interviews and appearances.
If children don't see you on a screen these days you may forget it. They also love a stat. My nephew is Liverpool fan and reeled off the career of Xavi Alonso when he was in the mix to take over...he couldn't tell you a thing on most GAA players...

GAAGo is now a good product, but they should have more snappy bits and cut-downs for socials and a youth-focused show.

But sure as I said the punditry is terrible...namecheck Dan Flynn and Feely, then say we have great players and shouldn't be down here...

Like Flynn has been poor for 2 seasons and there are newer lads in who are really not up to it.

Also, how did the GAA promote rugby? If memory serves me there was no press nights in some hurling counties in recent years...the rugby lads have a Captain's Run with all media there and people chatting.
