J70-you'll enjoy this one

Democratic Socialist running to replace Joe Kennedy in Congress came to this country as a penniless emigrant and worked her way through college while making minimum wage

Now she is "running for Congress to dismantle every oppressive system that denies us the basic necessities to live" from the luxury of her $1.7M Brookline manse

the Democrats really have a great scapegoat in trump blame him for everything even in states and cities they have run for decades, Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago, Minneapolis terrible places to live for black people and super dangerous for the communities that live there. Los Angeles 65k homeless San Francisco nobody on the streets only zombies , California will have no middle class soon only very rich and poor people ,the state can't even guarantee electricity to stay on in summer months , Portland and Seattle have the most liberal policies in the country but the loons are still not happy and riot almost nightly..Add the murder rate in nyc and Chicago and other liberal cities going through the roof weekly and it should give you a snapshot of the country in the future .

1.   Who is blaming Trump personally for the various long-standing problems in the US? He is rightly getting plenty of blame for a number of things from his incompetence to his corruption/self-dealing to his bigoted rhetoric and policies to his embracing of conspiracy theories and anti-intellectualism (although most of the latter are standard GOP fare, in fairness).

2.   Tell us Gmac, what the GOP is trying to do to help these inner city communities which, like many large cities in a capitalist system, are full of poverty and crime? How are conservative poliices going to bring in a bright new future instead of this "American Carnage" you're so confidently predicting? What does the GOP have to offer a poor, single black mother with a couple of kids? What is the GOP solution to homelessness or gentrification or healthcare?
who's blaming trump ? Have you been asleep for the last 5 months ,America is a racist country and it's because trump is the president is what I hear , why is the mayor of nyc painting blm on the street outside trump tower ?  Here's the thing about gentrification in these cities the politicians don't want any poor people or shitty old buildings in their cities there's no money in that for them .
They want property taxes , planning and building department fees from upgrades and new buildings which go to school districts and keep city budgets afloat , they want to do inspections on the buildings which creates more fees , they add in one or two low income housing here and there to cover their ass and they are corrupt also , the head building inspector and public works head were both arrested in San Francisco in the last year . Not sure what gop would do but it couldn't be any worse

Then you haven't been paying attention. Trump is president because America is a racist country, not the other way around.

1. DeBlasio painted BLM in front of Trump Tower because of Trump's racism and rhetoric, not because he thinks Trump is the source of all the US's racist issues.
(I cycled past Trump Tower this morning on my way to work - the painting is still there and looking well  ;))
2. Those Democratic politicians DON'T want poor people in their cities? So they DON'T want to "soak the rich" to pay for public housing and schools and healthcare and so on? That's news!
3. I've never claimed that liberals or Democrats or public employees couldn't be corrupt. ANYONE can be corrupted. That's why you need independent oversight with proper teeth, whether its federal government inspectors general or a local police ombudsman.
4. The GOP most certainly COULD be worse. Where are the poor and downtrodden going to turn if the public programmes, whether for housing or health or whatever, disappear under a Republican administration?

You must have missed the secession petitions in places like Texas, as well as the constant paranoid propaganda over his term from the right about what he was about to use the government to do (off the top of my head, do Jade Helm, for example, or FEMA re-education camps, ring any bells?).

And once again, Obama didn't try to invalidate the election ahead of time like Trump did in 2016 and is actively trying to do now.

If you want to whinge about anti-democratic tendencies, you should wait until you have a better horse to bet on than Trump.

the Democrats really have a great scapegoat in trump blame him for everything even in states and cities they have run for decades, Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago, Minneapolis terrible places to live for black people and super dangerous for the communities that live there.

Trump is president because America is a racist country, not the other way around.
was Obama not elected twice

He was. Despite the efforts of the GOP itself and certain people who are now president who fostered or indulged the racism against Obama.
yes and when he won both times the results were accepted and there was no outcry in the country that's full of white supremacists like eamon and Sid seem to believe. Just gauge that to trumps win and it's easy figure out who the anti democracy people are .

If you want to whinge about anti-democratic tendencies, you should wait until you have a better horse to bet on than Trump.
california wanted to secede after last election and Obama only tried to interfere in the last election by spying on a presidential campaign .

California wanted to secede or there was a Russian-boosted Twitter surge? https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-41853131. Regardless, assuming this Californian secession movement is part of the appalling anti-democratic response to Trump's election that you're lamenting, at least you're acknowledging that there WAS "outcry" in the country after Obama's victories.

As for Obama himself, I thought the conservative line was that he found out about the "spying" shortly before the inauguration when the concerns were raised about Flynn? A bit late for "interference" at that point, no? And from the sounds of the latest report from the Senate committee, compromised and all as that investigation was by obstruction, Manafort (i.e. the campaign manager) was up to his ears with the Russians.

Its behind a paywall, but I've heard a few liberal commentators saying that there are stories of long term reform getting mixed in here and that its overblown.

However, that's not surprising when the f**king president is sending out messages about blocking funding for the post office and claiming, without evidence, that the desire for funding to make sure mail-in votes can be facilitated is all part of some  Democratic plan to steal the election.

Here's a western Republican Senator, who is in a tough fight for reelection, on the issue of the post office (including delivery of prescription drugs):
