You'll be telling Lourdes is next, Iceman
MR2 I volunteered for 5 summers in Lourdes. I've seen healing there and received healing of my own recently through prayer.  You can believe in it or not but I have faith and I've seen the results and experienced them.

Gallsman its very easy to discuss/debate with most people on here because they don't insult everyone that disagrees with them. You continue to insult anyone who crosses you and come across as the big man when you're anything but....

Ive been to Lourdes and its the most tacky place I've ever been to, I was actually very embarrassed by the place, wheeling people down in beds from teh local hospital the church is a double of the Disney castle and the streets have neon lights flashing, Holy water here!!

If you believe then thats fine, I can only go with what I saw when there and its a con (to me) if it gives comfort to people, then brilliant I've no problem with that, but don't talk about miracles please

Timeline might be slightly off there by a century or so MR2
Its modeled on Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, the one in CA at least

So. It's still a tacky place, any sorta religious theme to it is lost by the commercial interest, that's how I felt when I was there anyways..

the thing that got me was the Tiny Tim Crutch hanging on some telephone lines above the grotto, as if a person who struggled to walk was cured and threw his crutch up in the air !!

So... it came before Disneyland...???
Your dreaming stuff up to fit in with your perception.

Right numpty, when did I post that Disney castle was built before the church at Lourdes? Now if you can see that I'll happliy agree with you.. you read, the church is the double of the Disney castle

Your were comparing the two like they had copied the Sleeping Beauty castle in Disneyland to make it tacky to attract tourists.

So I didn't say it was built before the Lourdes church? Thanks I thought that... the town is tacky as f**k, the church looks like the Disney castle and wheeling people in beds to a hopeless cause is embarrassing (in my view)
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Ah give over the pair of you. Nobody gives a f**k.

Reading this article, is increasingly clear that Tom Evans, Kate James and even poor little Alfie himself were only ever pawns for these fundamentalist pricks:

Don't be opening this can of worms. We know the the Christian fundamentalist wing only had the best interests of poor wee Alfie on their mind. I wonder if Stroilov has his law degree from the same university as wee Seamie Bryson and Syferus?

God rest the wee boy and hopefully the parents will be left to grieve their baby the way they should have been....in privacy and with dignity instead of being used and duped at a time that they were vulnerable.

Yes and by doing so you were comparing the two like they had copied the Sleeping Beauty castle in Disneyland to make it tacky to attract tourists.

In fairness, and I never agree with MR2, I don't think he said that. He said it's a double of it, i.e. it looks very similar to it. I don't think he said they built it to look like Disneyland :)

1. The court was told that the boy's mother left him at home with his siblings while she went out for a couple of hours with her partner.

2. She gave him her mobile phone in case he needed to contact them urgently.

Garda Malcolm Hooks told the court that

3. the boy downloaded the Gaydar app and

4. created a fake profile on which he claimed he was 19.

On another part of the profile, the boy wrote: "I'm not a porn star I'm a 13-year-old."

5. Within a short time, a meeting between the man and the boy had been arranged at the boy's home. The man showered and then drove to the boy's home, the court heard.

6. The man admitted in a later Garda interview that when the boy answered the door to him he thought he was aged "16 or 17".

Garda Hooks said that when the boy was interviewed by specialist interviewers he claimed that the man forced him to perform oral sex.

7.The boy's mother returned unexpectedly during the encounter and witnessed what was happening.

8. The accused man's sister gave evidence that up until this incident her family never knew he was homosexual.

The Shinner leadership is now in Dublin.  Maybe the City also wants to lead Unionism.
Watch out for a new Nelson statue, coming soon.

Syferus

Sacramento police arrested the East Area Rapist/Original Night Stalker serial killer last week. He raped 50 women and killed at least 13 people between 1974-1986.

I'd just watched a documentary series about the crimes (Unmasking a Killer, very average and if you're interested I'd recommend the Criminology podcast season on the case as it's far better) and afterwards Googled the case to see that he'd been arrested the day before. Surreal. Probably the most infamous unidentifed American serial killer outside of the Zodiac.

I would say a lot of these chaps will be having sleepless nights now that they see a lot of these cold cases being cleared up. He was nailed on the basis of DNA samples used for genealogy.

Read a magazine article about this a few weeks ago. An amateur called Michele McNamara spent 5 years going through the evidence and wrote a book. Sadly she died before this breakthrough. I couldn't believe it when I read about the arrest last week. Coincidence or what?! Maybe her book prompted something.

The fact that the arrested was a serving cop at the time is 'disappointing'.
