I know it may be difficult for the CCC to release league fixtures straight after championship is announced as teams can not play their drawn opponent before the championship date.. however surely they can have the championship draw earlier in Feb or even January to give themselves time to sort fixtures and give players the chance to have sufficient time to view fixtures before the league starts.  I'm presuming they are being released this week?

Has anyone heard of any names yet on whos going to drop off County panel once the starred fixtures are released?

Ive heard Conal McCann and Rony O'Neil are waiting on the Club fixtures to be released before they walk, only time will tell wheather this is true or not

There should be a rule that once the fixtures are made anyone that was on the county panel at that point cant play the starred games. It's the only way to cut out that scenario.
Not at all. They should be playing for their club every game and there should not be a them and us scenario at all. Any player not getting county ball on a Sunday should be with their club the following week.

In the last few years a number of players have quit the panel after the starred fixtures were announced. The starred games were put in to ensure teams with same number of county players played each other where possible. This scenario of players quitting after the fixtures were announced was creating a slightly unfair advantage to the clubs with the county men pulling out (and also leading to encouragement for them to do so in some cases).

I'd love to see players play more club games (though it has got even more difficult with the current county season) but that's a separate thing to the issue here. Though as pointed out I can't imagine Omagh and Killyclogher being that worried about the starred games given the strength of their panels that they'd be asking players to pull out.

Happens all this time,

McCurry done it last year,

"In hiding" and "youhavenofans" where have yous been the last couple of years or do yous not follow the club scene to see this happen.
I think the only possible solution is announce stared fixtures and if County men leave the panel to benefit their for starred game then the fixtures should be updated and another game changed to a starred game instead then

McCurry was heading to America so thats why he left the panel - not to be playing for Edendork every week. I would say that in most cases its due to players not getting any time through the McKenna Cup and then knowing that they wouldn't see any game time in the championship? An example of this i think was PJ Laverty few years ago?

Exactly my point, or are you saying he only got the call to America afer the fixtures where released? He cuda stepped away before long before he did if he knew he was going to America.

Also PJ Lavery featured in every national league game that season, want for a lack of game time. The reason he left was because of pressure from Cassidy! Ica n understand when the likes of Emmy McKenna and Coney stepped away at the time they did, they didnt wait around till fixtures came out and did it instantly after a game after not getting on a number of matches!

Is this a new by-law?

I think it's the opposite. The reason why they don't issue the league fixtures before the championship draw is because they want league fixtures between championship drawn opponents to be played early in the season, so we should see all these fixtures played in the first few rounds of the league.

The fixtures have never been this late before have they ?

Be interesting if the league is pushed back a week or two now in lieu as I've heard might.....be a possibility.

Given Tyrone are in the preliminary round in ulster there is even less weeks to play with in terms of the non starred games than last year. Can't see how they'd have time to fit the fixtures in if there was any further delays.

Tyrone still have an outside chance of making the league final maybe that's the hold up?

They actually have great chance of making it.

Surely they would have to win both of their remaining games to make the final? I wouldn't say they have a great chance of beating Dublin in Croke Park

Dromore v Trillick would be a tasty opener.

The master list of fixtures are already available - its just the order in which clubs will play is not out - don't see why this should be held up. If they put the fixtures back (which I don't think will happen) shouldn't matter to the match ups.

Poor form teams train all winter and still don't know who their first game is against.

Everyone gets very titchy around this time of year! lol Over the last 3 years fixtures have been released on 19/3/16, 15/3/17 & 9/3/18. At the last meeting, as far as I know, it was made clear that fixtures would be out the week following the Championship draw or possibly 10 days later.

Where is the master list of fixtures available at? Havent seen anything this year. At least it would give an indication of free weekends for players to plan a life.

Has Anne Daly (Dooher) left her role with the county board?
