Derry team to play Armagh
1. Gillis
2. McAlarey
3. McGuckian
4. McBride
5. O'Kane
6. McGuigan
7. Bateson
8. Dohery
9. Patsy Bradley
10. Mullan
11. Mickey Lynch's wee lad
12. SL McGoldrick
13. E. Bradley
14. Paddy Bradley
15. Wilkinson
No place for either Barry McGoldrick or James Kielt
Looks good - plenty of options on the bench - believe Mullan is going to cause havoc in the Armagh defence - more convinced now - Derry by 3

i know im biased towards nuig but the character our lads showed today to come back from 8 points down (i think) at a stage to force extra time, then to have the legs after the game yesterday to keep motorin for the whole of extra time was amazing. you'll be hard pushed to find a better 2 games of hurling played for the ret of the season
They've done that all season as well. They could easily have lost a few games that they ended up winning. They've finished most of their matches strongly though.
Out of the 6 games they played, they could have lost 5 of them. DIT hit so many wides and lost by a point. UCD were well ahead and NUIG equilised with the last puck of the game. CIT were 7 points up having missed 3 guilt edged goal chances. And that was only the group stages.
Sign of a good team tho, with character in abundance.

Who scored the goals in the Fitzgibbon Final i had a bet on a couple?
Morey got the NUIG one anyway. Not sure about the WIT one. Maybe Hammersley.

The first match was as good a game of hurling as you'll see all year. NUIG stuck John Lee on Joe Canning and Lee was outstanding. Probably helped that he knows Canning so well from Galway training. Probably marks him fairly regularly. Joe had a real off-day. He even missed a few frees he would normally put over blindfolded.
