Quote from: giveherlong on Today at 01:48:41 PMAny recommendations for family friendly hotels or accommodation in Albuferia, Portugal?

Going next week, not to a family friendly one though, would imagine Old Town Albuferia would be best suited for a quiet time, mum and dad usually went there, they loved it.

But the strip you'd need to avoid! Think my sister stayed at the Jupiter resort, not sure when to be honest, her kids were smaller. think its expensive though.

Checked out any Airbb?

Quote from: An Watcher on Today at 07:23:18 AMStumbled across this show Manifest on Netflix.  First few episodes not bad but seen there are over 50 of them.  Not sure whether to stick with it

I'm into the 2nd series and I'm still not sure where it's going. 1st series was good though. 3rd series not on netflix either

Was going to get into it but Lost really fecked me over with too many episodes and this is no where near as good in quality

Lads that would follow the national football teams would hit some of the obscure venues Id say

Some people can't understand simple instructions.

There are  over 200 according to Wikipedia , so I'll start  with the A's and  the B's.

Just add which of  these you've travelled to:

As a reminder

But there might be one or two missing from that list

Quote from: Harold Disgracey on April 24, 2024, 11:02:09 PMYou will have noticed that the LVF were generally unable to carry out any attacks in the Garvaghy Road and Tunnel areas of Portadown. They did once try to shoot up the Tír na nÓg clubhouse one night but apparently the gunman was shaking so much he missed the building. Billy Wright and his cohorts were very much protected and enabled by the RUC, everyone in Portadown was aware of this hence the RUC couldn't guarantee easy access and exit from any of the nationalist areas of town. As an aside Robert Hamill's mother died this week without seeing any justice for her son's murder.

Wasn't aware of the Portadown situation, but thinking back on it there was genuine fear of the LVF across the catholic community. Watching King Rat and his cohorts patrol the crowds at Garvaghy always sent chills. There was that feeling that they could and would do what they wanted. Pure evil.
I know Wright eventually finished up in prison, but I can't remember what the charge was.
His killing in prison, also feels like it could have had a level of facilitating about it - perhaps to keep him quiet?
Happy enough with the outcome of that facilitation. Crip died young but he performed an important task.

Crip was a sc**bag, killed a man for not letting him into a bar.

Quote from: Gael85 on April 25, 2024, 08:37:29 PMMan City 3 up. Brighton in holiday mode. A good chance to boost their goal difference. Have been very poor the last few months. Don't think DeZerbi will be getting one of the top jobs.

2nd goal that came from a free kick I don't think was a foul on Foden. Very poor by Brighton trying to play out from the back on the 3rd goal.

Definitely not a free for Foden. Might as well give the trophy to Man City now. Won't be stopped.

Even if it wasn't a free kick, Brighton are on their Hols and lost 4 nil.

One team had a chance to win the league but a draw and defeat took it out of their hands..

Quote from: Turf on April 25, 2024, 01:17:41 PMMaybe he will stand in the centre circle and tell the fans their job now is to support the new manager aka 'the chosen one'.

Klopp is leaving Liverpool far better than he found them. If he had would nothing else apart from the Premier League he would still be considered a legend imo. The fact he won everything there was to win (apart from the Europa League obvs) means he will go down as one of the greatest managers the club has ever had.

Certainly whomever comes in has big boots to fill but they should be given time because it's probably going to take next season at the least to find his feet at such a big club.

Genuinely intrigued that Liverpool fans will hold him in such high esteem, or maybe is it recency bias? He delivered one league title in 9 years?

I get that he is an iconic figure and was box office and even fans of other teams will miss him from the EPL.

You have to look at what he was up against. He has been up against the monster that is city. Up against a club that financially outstripped its competitors in the PL by so much for the duration of his stint. And he still managed to get a title and run them close in another few. Not to mention the champions league.
Given where Liverpool came from, it was an unreal feat. Look at the status of the club now compared to before he came. There is no comparison. IMO at least.

Been told a lot that Utd have spent more money than City? So which club uses its money wisely would be best to judge?

City have the best manager and Liverpool equally as good a team with less money spent than Utd, but their manager used it wisely and bought players which suited his system of play.

Whereas Utd and Chelsea have spent bucket fulls of money or poor players and a string of managers

How many fist pumps will he finish off with at the Kop?

I hope he brings the team down and stand in a line at the Kop end to finish off, that for me was the turning point in his early career at Liverpool

Most of them would be low down the IQ level and easily manipulated by a few semi intelligent but evil people.
The far right leader tells lies to people he knows are stupid.

I thought that tactic is standard across the world. People buy into that every time come elections
