Donegal Senior Football Championship Relegation Play Off
Cloch Cheann Fhaola 1-07  Gleann Fhinne 3-13

Sin é

Gleann Fhinne stay in Senior Championship.
The young Cloch Cheann Fhaola side go into the Intermediate.

Only after seeing this now drici. Are Cloch Cheann Fhaola a good young team? Will they progress out of intermediate or what?
Inaugural Football Championship Prediction Winner.

Cloch Cheann Fhaola are sitting 2nd bottom of Division Two with all Senior teams above them apart from being two points behind Naomh Muire (of Anagaire Bridge fame) who they drew with away in the League. Above are the four sides in the Intermediate Championship Semi Finals this weekend. Naomh Naille are clear top of Division Three with Naomh Columba and Aodh Ruadh mid table in Three. If they can keep all the young players from emmigration, then Cloch Cheann Fhaola should be in with something of a shout to make a quick return or be thereabouts.
(Naomh Muire v Aodh Ruadh must be one of the few if not only Club Championship game in any County to be going up against the All Ireland Hurling Final though it does start half an hour beforehand.)

Aodh Ruadh's Colm Kelly takes a tumble, after this challenge from Naomh Muire's Dara White, in the Intermediate Semi Final, played at Mac Cumhaill Park.

A Paul' Yank' Boyle penalty just before Half Time was the defining score as Naomh Muire cruised past Aodh Ruadh, into the Final.

Naomh Muire 1-11  Aodh Ruadh 0-06

Boyle's goal sent the Rosses men in three points up at the interval at the end of what was a closely contested opening 30 minutes. The midfielder, who turned in a storming second half display, made no mistake from the spot after Pádraig McCafferty had gone down in the Aodh Ruadh 'square' after turning over a short kick out.

That was on the half-hour mark and really proved the turning point in a game that up to point was very much in the balance.

In fairness to the winners, they had recovered from a slow start to come right back into the tie after falling 0-04 to 0-01 after 17 minutes.

Aodh Ruadh with Eamon McGrath and Donagh McIntyre doing well at midfield and David Dolan causing all sorts of problems for the Naomh Muire rearguard, had played all the quality football early on.

But as Boyle began to make his presence felt around midfield Naomh Muire slowly rose to the challenge and by the 23rd minute, thanks to points from Ciarán McGinley (2) and Seán' Point' Gallagher, had drawn level.

David Dolan temporarly restored Aodh Ruadh's advantage on 28 minutes. But parity was soon restored with man of the match Boyle pointing a massive long range strike, seconds before he tucked away the spot kick.

With Boyle taking over at midfield the second half turned into a one sided affair with Harry Harden (3), Seán 'Yank 'Boyle, Patrick Gillespie and Pádraig McCafferty posting points. Aodh Ruadh only scored once in the second period though a Mickey 'Sticky' Ward 13 metre free, one minute from the end of normal time.
