unbelieveable to see a team from Easkey/St Farnan's in west sligo win Division 4.

there was no club in west sligo until a few years ago.
shows what can be done with hard work!

Hard work and a flagrant disregard for rules.

recruiting in kids from areas that don't have hurling clubs?

The Rossa (Belfast) lads may have had thin pencil moustaches, but I'd say they're all U-14 OK. They develop young up there.

Ever hear of Western Gaels?

And is it Easkey, or Easkey/St Farnans?

This whole situation has been handled badly by the county board and the people behind this team. Personality clashes are no reason to go off and do your own thing but of course in Sligo if you have enough political clout you can do what you like.

Don't think you even need political clout Sean. You just need to have more bottle than the sleveens on the county board. They're the regulators here and could have put an end to it all.

It's a pity because it appears hurling is doing well in West Sligo. Having been in Croker yesterday I'd prefer it to having to watch the dire football we are treated to by all counties.

Western Gaels are based in Enniscrone.
What has that got to do with Easkey/St Farnan's??

magpie seanie

Neil - with the greatest respect you either don't know what you are talking about or are deliberately twisting things to try to suit a certain viewpoint. I know pretty much everything that there is to know about this regrettable situation and it is nothing to be proud of.

Have not a clue

have cousins in the St Farnan's area and there was unfortunately no hurling in the area when I visited as a youngster, though my dad can remember hurling being played in the area

There's a lot more to this than you know so.
