There is a test they do in the sports centre in DCU that measures speed agility - no sure what exactly it entails or really means but sounds like that type of thing you'd want your corner back or corner forward to be really good at more so than  say being an 11.5 second 100 metre man ! The test has been carried out on numerous pro rugby teams, an Aussie Rules team that played Ireland a few years back and many others  ...... the 2nd best score ever recorded was our own Conoreen Mortimer !

INDIANA

He probably told you that in Coppers one night

Probably posted this before but back a good few years ago Peter "Pip" Duffy was known as a bit of speed merchant and he was drinking in Blayney on a Sunday and Oisin McConville landed into the pub he was drinking in. He'd had a right few and started telling Pip he was finished, slow and he was quicker than him. Of Course, cool customer Pip just laughed and this only drove McConville madder and he wanted a race on the street to prove it.

Pip didn't want to know but McConville never stopped so to shut him up, Pip agreed. They were to start at the traffic lights, as they turned green, down the street to another pub at far end of street. It was all set, the two pubs emptied, two boys set to go at the lights and they turned green. McConville flew away, while Pip just stood up, turned and went back into pub and sat back down to drink his pint.

5 minutes later McConville landed back in and was going mad cause Pip had made a fool of him. He wanted him back out on the street. Eventually they just had a pint and a craic.

You just can't beat the Ulster Championship for craic.
