I wonder have they been abolished?

Not sure

But the championship  dates/venues could take you anywhere,  and all over the space of a few short weeks. It's too unpredictable,  and families can't stretch to trekking  the  length and breadth of the country

The league is set in stone  2-3 months in advance, and people know where  they are with it.

A league only ticket  would suit more people I'd imagine. Only the current  ticket  suits the likes of  Dublin and Kerry

People willing to follow a team through the league will make an effort in the championship, a lot of the SAM teams are in the northern half of the country, bar Cork and Kerry.
There are half a dozen teams with a reasonable chance of making the final, but not perhaps to be favourites to win it.

GAA season tickets on sale today, still €150 but with ticket for the first championship game no longer included. Significant price rise in real terms. Another rise to league ticket prices (currently €18) looks inevitable based on season ticket prices. GAA to confirm later today

The removal of the first championship game means the season ticket works out at around €21.50 per league game. Given that buying on the day cost €18 last year (which was a 20% increase on the year before), it feels safe to assume the news coming later won't be good for fans.

€21.50 per Football National League game with a season ticket.

€28 per Hurling National league game with a season ticket.

Crazy pricing!

Rossfan

€20 per game for D1 abd D2 individual games.
Did I read something about a League ticket for €100 for the 7 games?

You are guaranteed your AI ticket. For that you have to expect to pay over the odds. Sporting organisations are renowned for taking advantage of loyal Fans. You are just another sucker. That's the nature of business and there is no shame in that.

Blowitupref

Doesn't seem to be much value in the season ticket.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

€20 is grand then?

I think it was £50 for Ulster Club ticket.  Not bad I reckon if you went to a few games.

I think it included both codes and senior, intermediate and junior so you could have got good value out of it.

It's a pity these league tickets don't offer as much value.  Should the GAA not be rewarding loyal fans?

Eire90

Does the league get good attendances because people have been starved of intercounty football for 6 months

Eire90

Does any season tickets include the county championship final of the county you bought ticket for.

Amateur sports are not free entry though.

Hold that thought until we see what the regular tickets will cost this year.
