The main issue there I think is the potential overlap with the proposed new minor schedule.
Some clubs very reliant on minor players to field at reserve level.
Something has to give somewhere

If reserve football changed to proposed structure played on a Monday or Friday the majority of clubs will not have To rely on minors as the reason they do so now is cause they are available at short notice whereas there alot of lads in a club that can't commit on a Sunday due to family life etc. But would be happy to play in a standalone fixture

Are Errigal ciaran reserves in division 3 and are they allowed promotion.

Not Errigal reserves (they play in Div 1 reserve league) , Errigal 3rds play in Div 3 and as far as I know they can win promotion. Errigal 3rds reserves play in the Div 3 reserve league so in effect they have 4 adult teams fielding every season - not bad going in fairness.

There's 3 clubs in our parish so would be the very least expected from that parish no?

I always thought there were 4 teams in Coalisland parish - Fianna, Clonoe, Brackaville and Stewartstown but you learn something new every day
Clonoe will not be happy with that transfer/merger!

I'm confused, on that fixture template all the reserve games are down for Saturdays (the odd Friday too) with senior fixtures scheduled for Sundays. Where did the Monday nights come from?

GetOverTheBar

Might not to be to everyone's tastes, whatever will be I suppose but on this occasion fair play to the County Board at least trying something new.

Martin Sludden to be commended on his efforts.

if the reserves are on the friday/saturday and not the monday, there's a good chance of being successful

They could play them mid week when the longer evenings come in say in May/June onwards (most unis near enough wrapped up). Works in other counties.

If by successful you mean unsuccessful, then yes, you are correct.

Topofthesoil what would your suggestion be to improve things?

They have obviously changed it on the excel sheet since the meeting. I would guess it'll be on Friday nights.

Decoupling Reserve football from Seniors is the best solution. Some teams just don't have the depth to compete in Div 1 Senior and Reserve.

You are part of a very small minority with that view. Can you not see that Reserve football is dying in Tyrone?
