From the Bunker

Time to close this thread up! Winning this is nice for the winter fans but means less when you are out on your arse come summer.

of Ros? Jealous ? More of a diol deirce tbh.  Would love to see ye doing well. Perhaps Ros will win the all Ireland before Mayo. That really would be something.

Yesterday was Galways first senior trophy won be it championship, league or pre season for 7 years and they should be allowed to bask in the winter sunshine a little longer.

Whatever about Ros beating us to the post first, we'll definitely win before the fancy dans! I mean in times past when we were knocking on the AI door, our biggest test was against the Herrings. Them days are a memory! Galway seem to think just because we are getting close they are not far behind. But the truth is that could not be more fantasy. Galway are 8 years without a Connacht title. Drifting year in year out in midtable Division two and getting a game or two in the back door come championship. No leaders are emerging and football has changed. As glamerous as it seemed to win your AI's in 1998 and 2001 you had to endure some horrid All Ireland days between 1967 to 1997! So contrary to way the media portray ye, ye are not immune from suffering. And when you come good and get to AI Finals it does not always fall into place as in '71, '73 and '74. And we won't say anything about 83! Making the breakthrough is not easy.

On the bank of Lough Ree. Might be the most picturesque county ground in Ireland. Will make some change for the Monaghan lads.

True but when you win a few it's a lot easier to take losing a few.

Nothing beats someone on the wind up but is clearly wound up themselves.

Been long time since the Fancy dans have been on a wind up! ;)

You are hitting the nail on the head there from the bunker, the only thing worse than being broke is being broke and pretending your not, some of these Galway posters think they are Kerry.

A noted lack of spice in the stands yesterday compared to McHale. Ros-Mayo just tends to be a more full-blooded affair for the crowd.

But there are a few things worse than having 9 AIs - like 2 or 3 for example.

;) ;) ;)

Not sure how you come to that conclusion reading the last few pages. If anything the few Galway posters here are pretty negative on the year ahead.

Just don't drag us into the Mayo/Roscommon border dispute. ;)

Its a very poor attempt at a wind up, don't think there's anyone on here who thinks we'll get promoted this nevermind anyone that thinks we're Kerry.
