does anyone know if Quentin Tarantinos new film 'Inglourious Basterds' is gonna be a mainstream film. It premiered at the Cannes Film festivle there.
Think Brad Pitt is starring in it.

I read the first 30 pages of the script its ok if your into your Nazi films. Typical Tarrantino goar.

Prob will be a good flick but would have nothing on 'Ziggy- The king of the Castle'

I was in Cannes the day before the film festival and the publicity it got was unreal.
There was gigantic billboards on all the top hotels so the money spent on marketing would suggest that it will go on wide release.
I have seen trailers too so they wouldnt be releasing trailers in the cinemas if it wasnt going to be released.

Cannes hype isnt real hype thou a lot of films are 'hits' at Cannes and then bomb in the box office or go straight to DVD. Im sure that Inglourios Basterds' will be a big Cinema hit but wonder what release date is.

Seen in my local DVD shop new releases for next week, i havent seen any of these any recommendations:
Slumdog Millionaire
Defiance

Also ones in the shop that i havent seen:
Role Model
The Mummy 3
Frost/Nixon

Slumdog Millionaire and Frost/Nixon are two of the finest films (for different reasons) that I have seen in the past year.
Couldnt recommend them highly enough

Finally saw Zack and Miri Make a Porno last night on Blu-Ray. Vintage Smith, a film I highly enjoyed. A film with real emotion and heart, once you get past all the fart and porno jokes. Jason Mewes was hilarious in it, as was the cameos from "Superman" and Justin Long. I'd definitely recommend it for all, as long as you're not too easily offended.

Went to see the new Terminator movie at the cinema tonight. Fantastic film and finally got rid of the memory of the 3rd terrible film.

Christian Bale was terrific as John Connors and the special effects were the best I've seen yet. Was brilliant seeing the Arnie cameo of sorts.

After hearing mixed reviews of the films, I wasn't holding up much hope for the latest installment of the Terminator franchise, but I'd recommend it for anyone to go see.

Dumb and Dumber. Watched Fight club last night as well. Quare show. Read IMDB for that film. Interesting ol read.

The Mummy 3 is average, a time filler.  Slumdog is definitely worthy of the praise its received.  Zach and Miri is a good enough show aswell.  Changeling and Defiance have been laying in the house for months and neither really appealed to me.  I watched Changeling and it was brilliant, very good performance from the master Malkovich in it.  Angelina just annoys the balls out of me though.  I see Liam Neesonis being lined up to play Hannibal in the new A-Team movie, I can see another complete hash of a remake on the cards!

Really enjoyed Valkery (sp) at the weekend. some fantastic acting performances. he suspense really builds even though you know the outcome.
had the feel of a movie that was extensively cut down in time.
