Armagh have shown glimpses of the 2022 championship form this year but I'd still be worried that they will slip back into last years negative mindset when faced with better opposition. The same thing happened in the League final again when the stakes were heightened and the fear of losing took over. 

The Ulster final, should we get there, could well be the defining game of the season because they won't be winning an All Ireland title. For a lot of those players it's probably the last chance saloon to try and win meaningful silverware.

It definitely is, anybody who says otherwise is deluding themselves.

Devalue everything except the one cup that's pretty much unattainable for most counties in a given year, it's a coping mechanism to avoid disappointment

Has there been a bit of a sea change in general opinion? Seems to be a bit of common sense entering the debates - previously dismissed or shut down debates  imo.

The average person has common sense with these freaks. But they get called out for it so are afraid to say much.

I certainly don't view trans people as freaks. Trans rights shouldn't trump womens' rights tho (& their right to feel safe in women only areas), that seemed to be the road it was hurtling down for a long time. A section of the trans movement appear to not want to assimilate into society either. I don't care if they want to assimilate or not but I don't think society should have to put up with some of their outrageous nonsense either. They should have equality in society, they should also respect others in society.

I think this is the case. Most people would have issues with the some of the proposals put forward by the trans movement. But equally most would refrain from calling them freaks. There's people from both sides on this board and all levels in between.

Is it just the fact it's Harte and it's Derry that's really galling ? You're from Tyrone, big chance a Derry man or two has been at your club. The players, who are the most important part of all this, wanted Harte / Devlin.
Bottom line is Brolly doesn't like Harte, so with his platform, as he does with anyone he doesn't like, he let's the world know continuously. Calling a 70 something GAA coach a cnut or whatever isn't the behaviour of a mature adult. Don't buy the bullshit it's because he's an outside manager, Brolly was, by his own admission instrumental in bringing Mullans in in the 90s, the mans a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction.

I used to find Brolly really interesting, he actually seems to be becoming slightly unhinged.

I can easily see him totally ostracised in the media world and an Ewan MacKenna type character in a few years

His podcasts are very good and popular albeit he is prone to tall tales. A far cry from Ewan McKenna.

Don't know an awful lot about McKenna or his background, but Brolly and him share a similar narcissistic trait, it's all about them and being the centre of attention even if that is offending people.

The Harte thing is Joe being Joe, saying something controversial so that he is "trending" on social media, there must be an adrenaline hit in it for people wired like Joe.

That's exactly  right.  As Oscar Wilde Said , "there's only one thing worse than being talked about , and that's not being talked about".

Brolly  has to be in the  limelight, regardless  of who suffers or who he insults.  He just needs to be centre of attention .  The Mickey Harte thing is just the latest  thing

It's fairly tiresome at this point. I see he will now not let his entrenched hatred towards Mickey Harte stop him attending games. He loves this Derry team now that they're going somewhere, the same group who told him to run on when he tried to enter the Clones changing rooms and bask in their glory after we beat Donegal 2 years ago.

Could it reach the lunacy levels of '93?? That would be something to behold. Hoor's still haven't spoken to each other since. Clubs really struggled to get anyone to fill committee positions in' 94.

Thing is though, if they drastically decreased the corporate numbers attending the AI Final and increased the % to both senior finalists, pretty much everyone whose deserves a ticket would get one out of a capacity of over 82k.

I believe around 50% of the Celtic Pk stand is going to Donegal and Derry clubs, that's a hell of alot of seats going elsewhere.

Croke park had drastically reduced capacity in 93 iirc - 63k? Probably much of a muchness with the amount that's available nowadays after corporates and premium tickets are distributed.

It's a nonsense to suggest that corporate or premium tickets could be redistributed to 'real' fans. These tickets are generally bought on a 10 year basis and if the rights to the all Ireland finals were removed, they wouldn't have too much value.

Not 'corporate' corporate, those seats are pre paid for...the many thousands in regular seats that won't have been to a single game all year, the sweeteners

What a load of aul bollox! Derry reaches its second final ever.... Of course there's going to be a scramble with the county with the bandwagon jumpers. No different to the situation in any other county in Ireland in the same position. And I don't recall clubs struggling to fill positions the following year either?
