There was an article in the paper today which made for interesting reading.

Apparently, the mother of an inter county footballer who is still involved in the Championship rang into Whingeline yesterday complaining about the criticism that is aimed at GAA players from the media. She singled out Martin McHugh for his perceived slights on her darling son and seemed to imply that he had it in for him although she did admit that "her son had played bad games". Obviously McHugh denied this and said that all his punditry was fair and impartial. However, that's another thread!  ;D

So then, anyone care to take a guess at this guys identity?

It could have been Ciaran Whelan's mother but then again I think there are rumours that she only has daughters in her family  :P

Did you read the Paidi's article in the Indo on Sunday about the Kerry Peepers ? Peepers is a term used to describe a player who doesn't really go hard for the ball.

Will Hunting

When Des Cahill's Road to Croker show premiered back in July (the week before the Leinster Final) it came from the Oliver Plunkett's Club in Dublin (home of the Brogans and Ross McConnell, not Sherlock, but he plays for them). Martin McHugh was a guest that night on the show as was Brogan's ma and da. Anyway, McHugh basically took into Alan Brogan saying how he could be a great player, but his game is a bit one-dimensional, he makes wrong decisions etc. Basically wasn't that favourable towards him. I thought he should have known better than to come out with this considering where he was, and with Brogan's parents literally sitting a few seats away.

Don't know if this sheds any light on the issue?
