Great value in that bet......Tipp though have a serious team and buzz about them to be honest, they'll get to the semis before their real test in my view
Waterford struggle against Tipp yet Galway don't.
What way the semi final draws work out will have a big bearing on the eventual winners.

Galway match up well with Tipperary but to say they don't struggle with them is a bit ott. I think Tipperary won 2 of the last 3 and they've all been close.
My point was that Galway would fancy their chances against Tipp in a way that Waterford wouldn't. As you say there is never much between. If you have semi finals this year of Galway v Tipp and Waterford v KK for example Waterford would be quietly happy were Galway to come through if they got over KK but I couldn't see Waterford beating Tipp in the final.
True enough. I think you need a cliché. Here you go. "One thing is for sure, Galway won't fear Tipperary ".

See Tom Devine has informed management he is going travelling and won't be playing this year, strange to play the league then go all of a sudden ? They will miss him

I'd want better than 7/2 for Kilkenny.
11/8 on Tipp is poor value.
Waterford could cause damage to a team in the semi final but still bite the dust in the final.
I cant see the winner coming from the Leinster quartet of KK Dublin Galway or Wexford.

Not today
Good day today and opened up the Championship. Cork will get encouragement after today. Galway go in to the Dublin game on a high. Wexford ready to shock someone wth big performance. Waterford in the long grass. Clare and Limerick cou ause troube and the Cats sharpening the claws
Maybe from the fact that Galway can't help themselves but view winning Tipp teams as uppity and conceited. They take a kind of "knew them when they hadn't an arse in their trousers" approach to hearing those bellicose whoops from over the Shannon. It's a sound that can turn even the docile among them dangerous.

Very strange performance from Tipp. A return to the days when the forwards were completely outfought and intimidated by a physical team. Not sure if that's a worry for Tipp or a blip. Looking at them they looked like a team that had come off a serious week of training, but I don't know if that's the case or not.
Good to see Galway winning a national title. Delighted for Joe Canning.
This years championship is probably the most open since B.C.
David Burke @ 16/1, Daithi Burke @ 33/1 for HOTY, courtesy PPs, good odds. Both outstanding yesterday; David surely the player of the league.

April doesn't matter. Tipp are probably focused on Cork. They didn't turn up yesterday.
I wouldn't go so far as to say they were focussed on Cork as that is a few weeks away. They were the standout team in the league. Galway had greater desire to win and the Galway backs had the measure of the Tipp forwards. Added to that the Galway forward unit was flying. Plus as has already been stated Galway love playing Tipp no matter where the form guide is. You can say it's only April but this 'unbeatable' Tipp team getting hammered out the gate will affect them. 16 points defeat will certainly put a doubt in the mind.

Might affect them positively though. Tipp and confidence are easy bed fellows. A bad defeat wouldn't necessarily rattle them. Only they know themselves if there were extenuating factors. However the worry I see is it was a return to the days when they were out fought by a hungrier team. They are not good enough to let themselves get out fought.

Should we look at keeping the lesser teams away from the bigger teams? These 16 plus hammerings are no good for the teams trying to improve, would knock their confidence
I jest of course, but how many times have we heard when a big team plays a team outside the top 6 and the hammer them by 16/20 points and they say, thats doing no one any good, we should tier them... It may happen more often but there are plent of examples where top teams get a pasting
Anyone who thinks Tipp are going to be a soft touch this Summer is in for a shock. They will be there when it matters
I don't think anyone expects last year's winners and this years clear favourites to be a soft touch.

Nobody who knows anything about hurling thinks Tipp are going to be a soft touch. They're going to have their work cut out this year though as to get into an All Ireland they're probably going to have to beat three, possibly four, top teams before September.

I think I have changed my mind about that having seen their performance against Cork and now the Cathal Barrett situation. The fullback line was bad enough without losing Barrett

They are best of whats in the qualifiers and could face the winners of Wexford Galway in a semi final .If Galway win Leinster they will be booking the open top bus for Eyre Square and would be open to flop again. Tipp need to get their act together but no reason why they cant.

They've never used an open-top bus for homecomings. I've told you already, stop being sarcastic. Are you from Waterford?
Any one of them is a good bet! Obviously those straight through to semis has a better chance., or do they?
Problem for Galway will be their lack of tough games (should they dispose of Wexford handy enough) once in a semi..
Will wait till after those finals, last team to win coming out of qualifiers??

I would think so but it'd be possible that both teams to come through the qualifiers would be teams that Cork have already played. I'd still fear Tipp more than anyone with the talent they have.

Not Clare. Waterford are probably 8s because they may be hampered in Munster with no home games. Clare don't seem deep enough for me. If the Deise get out of the Munster Round Robin, they'll be dangerous.
