It was always going to come down to the game with Roscommon, for Cavan, and that hasn't and won't change, but the hope was we'd arrive there without too many scars and some confidence remaining. Who knows now what to expect from them on any given day? We're hideously inconsistent, often within games never mind from one to another, very mentally fragile and too content with moral victories, as shown by leaving a win behind us versus Tyrone. Any small degree of momentum from that is now in shreds. Mayo might not turn out to even be all that good, that's the scary thing, with Dublin waiting to annihilate us in second gear at Breffni - a game supporters will now understandably stay away from in droves? You try not to lapse into too much negativity and I know we've a new manager etc. but with all the gurus and back room geniuses we have, how in the hell did Cavan go out and turn in a dreadful display like that?

Quote from: From the Bunker on Today at 12:28:04 PMSF are on the slide. They were the rebellious vote. But are no longer in that mould.

A rebel without a cause. And not even a rebel anymore!

Trying to be "woke" in an effort to appeal to younger more progressive voters has backfired spectacularly.

The "Republican" movement has deep roots in socialism (and Marxism) so I'm not surprised they are in favor of open borders, but that doesn't sit well with about 80% of the electorate

Roscommon last week and Kerry today have made Tyrone's task easier by leaving themselves wide open defensively once turned over. That type of defending doesn't happen too often Ulster.

Half time Tyrone 1-8 Kerry 0-7

Tyrone good value for that lead. A good former defender and current manager in Tomás O Sé will have to improve Kerry defensively 2nd half to stand a chance of winning this final.

Half time stats

After 15 minutes Tyrone 1-4 Kerry 0-4. Lucky deflection on the goal but a good run through by the defender Joey Clarke. 2nd goal chance for Tyrone off the foot of the post now.

Quote from: Walter Cronc on Today at 07:50:32 AMSome nonsense being talked by the usual suspects. I'm with Keyser on this one. We battled well considering the circumstances. We'll be fine come preliminary quarters onwards.

I'm sure before this championship started the objective for Derry was to match or better their last two championship campaigns which was All Ireland semi final. If it's a Preliminary quarter final and Derry win that it will be three games in three weeks and up against a rested table topper (probably Kerry,Dublin or Donegal)

You can flip that too. Kerry will play Louth and Meath. After yesterday's debacle not exactly tested pre 1/4's. They are a side I wouldn't fear whatsoever!

Scheduling advantage can't be underestimated. Last year I believe Tyrone would have given a much better amount of themselves against Kerry in the last 8 tie with at least two weeks to prepare.

You can't let a round go on another few seconds just to see what happens. If the bell goes the bell goes. It was strange scenario in fairness. Fury would have been better taking a knee then holding on for the final few seconds. Easier said than done of course as Fury was all over the show.

Quote from: smort on Today at 12:11:02 PMHave RTÉ ever looked in to adding a new channel, RTÉ Sport say?

There's no reason why they can't  show some things on the RTE news channel. Live matches  are shown there sometimes, and they could have a Seo Sport style preview show  there during the week as well

In the mornings, they regularly show live video footage of  Claire Byrne's RTE radio show . No reason why they couldn't have Des Cahill on Sunday sport there, or a final score  type show as well.

TSG tries to squeeze in  a lot of  highlights/punditry . A midweek show could fill in the gaps  and look at some things in more  detail
