Bad injury in the Mountmellick Crettyard game. Hopefully the chap makes a good recovery, it was nasty.

Heshs Umpire

A pity to see all the names of lads playing ACFL at the weekend who are good enough to improve the Laois team.
Davy Conway, Kevin Meaney, Paul Cahillane and Colm Kelly were all playing for their clubs.
Well I could keep it above
But then it wouldn't be sky anymore

I think Colm Kelly was permitted to play? He was at the game in Galway anyway. The other players would definitely add something but what can be done.

Good to hear that about Kelly- he is good scoring forward. I know there's nothing can be done about the missing lads but it's a real pity we don't have everyone on board - we would have right shot at a league title if we had.

Helix

The Heath beat Arles Kilcruise by a point. Heath almost blew 5 point lead 5 mins to go. Nonetheless the better side won.
It's hardly possible to build anything if frustration, bitterness and a mood of helplessness prevail

Port are going along very well. Could they be the team to threaten the Portlaoise dominance?

portlaoisekid

Of course they can. There are plenty of teams well able to beat Portlaoise, as a Portlaoise man I feel belief is a problem for some teams when they have faced Portlaoise in recent seasons especially at the latter stages, thats not to say Portlaoise havent been a very good club team and deserved every title but every team is beatable .

Thewildcat

its a bit early to be talking up Port, won't see the best of portlaoise till later on in the summer.

You're right, but it's encouraging to see someone like Port pushing on in the league. We need our larger urban areas challenging properly. Portlaoise, Port, Mountmellick and Graiguecullen account for a sizeable chunk of Laois' population and should be more prominent.
