100%. It was never about Art. A legend.
The disrespect Mickey Harte gets in Tyrone a disgrace.Tyrone ditched Mickey Harte if memory serves me right, did Tyrone people expect him never  to manage again with a team that might be competitive?Mickey didn't decide to leave Tyrone because Derry came calling.
Tyrone supporters are serious begrudgers especially against there own. That's a fact unfortunately.

You mean heading to England yourself and buying one at auction?

I don't know but would be interested. Do you need to be registered as a trader to buy at auction?
Yes that's what I mean. Didn't explain it to well with a few typos as well.
I wonder what are the prices with UK dealers like compared to here.
I was looking at a few dealers prices compared to private sale and you would be losing 2/3 grand as soon as you drive it out the gate

Quote from: WT4E on December 30, 2023, 11:57:26 PMA word of thanks to the Gortin Club. Something for them to take great pride in. Raising serious money in memory of Matty for the Kevin Bell repatriation Trust. They also hosted some of Mattys family after the game. Class touch from a class club who I know we aren't actually neighbours but we always feel like they are a close neighbour.

Thank you for this in a time when a neighbouring club never acknowledged the loss on their social media when so many others near and far did. We really appreciate the love from those near and far because it mean so much.

Curiosity got the better of me so I checked. I see the Rock, Pomeroy and Cookstown all posted tributes. Would it be a club to the West of you...
I think this should be nipped in the bid straight away. Who ever it was most certainly wouldn't have did it deliberately. To even mention it on here is poor form

Quote from: the goal was on on December 22, 2023, 11:31:03 PMMc Guinness was with down most of last year. Didn't see nothing new or innovative there!
according to Conor Laverty he took part in a training session in January and wasn't part of the Down management.

Going by reports of Donegal'S recent challenge they played with big intensity and numbers back giving the opposition little time or room on the ball and attacked with pace on the counter.

innovative that style isn't but will take serious strength and conditioning to keep it going into July. They should have a strong league campaign this spring after a very poor one this year.

It was the intensity of his 2011 and 12 team that, for me was the outstanding characteristic.
I watched them play Tyrone at clones in the semi of 2011 , and I left that game thinking they could not be beat.
The whole team were really bulked up and the ferocity of their tackling was phenomenal.
The sound of many of the collisions was sickening.
Against Tyrone and Derry that year it was like boys against nen.
But i think that eventually went against them as they seem to become slower.

Boys against men where the men needed an injury time goal to win?!

I think you missed the point i was hoping  to make.

IE. Their physical superiority not their footballing.
It was a great rivalry that time. Don't think anyone in Tyrone will agree with you on the men v boys but isn't amazing how much a factor hunger is in players. Gormley,Hughes, Mulligan,Jordan,Ricey were well through the mill at that stage. They were definitely great times.

Are you serious?

McCullagh had Ricey & McIver in his backroom team
Seaney had Jody in his team last year
Jody had Peter McGinnity this year
What part do u not get. All 3 of them managers were heavily involved in the on field coaching of there team. The initial argument was u can't coach and manage at the same time. There is three championship winners who have.
Sure u can whoever u want in ure backroom team. That's got nothing to with the arguement

Quote from: redzone on December 01, 2023, 11:04:57 AMRichard Thornton has already managed Coaisland.
What's the view in Kildress on Tracey driving up the road to manage Cookstown and his own club are without a manager.
Another strange one is Moortown paying James Conway with Chris Lawn helping out. Surely Lawn could take it on his own

Have you tried to manage and coach a team? Too much time
Go on tell me what extra James Conway will be doing compared to Chris Lawn

You need 2 men, a coach and manager. Can't have same man setting up training then talking to players etc. the role can be shared or separate
So you can't have the same man setting up training, taking the drills then talking to players. Don't think you know what your talking about.
Maybe someone who hasn't a clue might need help. Say Rafferty of Dungannon who got Holmes in to take the training. But Chris Lawn should be on his own with help from a coaches from inside the club. It's intermediate not a county team setup we are talking about.

How do you explain Jody Gormley & Peter McGinnity then or Horse & McKaigue or Ricey & McIver. How are they different to the Moortown set up?
Big difference is Ricey needed McIver has he was away with cavan. Horse same Louth. Moortown don't need Conway. Chris Lawn more than capable of doing it on his own.
Anyone who trys to tell me that a manager can't manage and coach at the same time is wrong. Yes he will definitely need help and split the training up but at the end of the day to many people complicate it

The debate is not whether Chris lawn can do it himself - I think we all know he can for sure and is very capable. The issue and main point is that it takes 2 men to do the job right. There is a difference between managing and coaching especially if you have massive ambitions and big squad numbers.
Of course it takes two,if not three or four. The debate is wether u can coach and manage at the same time. I'm saying you can. Original poster is saying u can't. Any decent manager will be very hands on in the coaching front at training.
