Does anyone know of any place or person in Ulster that is able to put the small rivets on the side of the cooper helmets so the faceguard can be clipped on.
Thanks
I had an old Scanda helmet which had no rivets for a cooper faceguard strap to clip onto. My da is good with things like that and he put two rivets onto my helmet, and it was perfect.
all you need is a pop rivet gun a drill some rivets and a drill bit!!!!
simply drill a hole through the clip and helmet put the rivets in and pop them with the gun.
5 minute job!!
just make sure the flat part of the rivet is on the inside

Where can ye get the rivets....I've tried a few saddlers and everything
try a hardware shop, a proper builders providers, not any of them diy shops.
a few words to the wise on the use of improper rivets, spountain bolts and the likes, a young lad in our club had one of the old coopers fitted with a faceguard and somehow he managed to get a thump on the hinge part of the faceguard and the head of the bolt nicked his forehead. It has to be said the padding was pretty shitty as well.
any helmet in a bad state of repair offfers less protection
Did ye see Tommy Walsh today?
He had the horizontal bar removed from his helmet.
Which is against the new rules.
