GAA-SMART

I was talking to someone earlier and he said it was the winner of that game

Winners are not those who never fail, but those who never quit!

Why did Laois Today report that we were through to a Leinster Semi Final? The hoganstand states that Meath are playing Westmeath on Saturday in the quarter final.

I think that report may be wrong Junior.

Junior Ex Laoistalk

It could be wrong Chrimtain, seems to be hard enough to get fixtures for this competition..

GAA-SMART

We qualified for the semi just based on the group we were drawn in, Kildare also in the semi for the same reasons

Think that part of the article is mistaken as Meath playing Westmeath on Saturday in the quarter and Kildare gone straight to a semi like laois

clonadmad

Laois are in a semifinal

Draw for Semifinal opponents will take place after the quarterfinals

Junior Ex Laoistalk

Thanks for clearing that up lads  👍

Westmeath beat Meath in minor qtr final today. That opens up a realistic path to a Leinster final for Laois.........I hope.

The PRO

Play Kildare in semi final in Portlaoise on Friday 21st June.

GAA-SMART

How are the lads looking fro Friday ? I see the 16s are int he Gerry Reily on Saturday aswell

Byrne, Delaney, Swayne and Burke will be massive additions to the panel. Good to see.

I don't know the latter two but Byrne is a seriously good player and Delaney is a great option in a number of positions.

This was a game we could have and should have won. This is a good team but some of the execution of the handpass was horrible, balls not finding their man, going over their heads and even passing straight to the Kildare players at vital times in the game. Burke made a difference when he came on but a bit of complacency in defence by him saw him being robbed of the ball by a Kildare forward who was through on goal and was hand tripped by Burke who was trying to make up for his mistake. He was unfortunate but the ref had no choice but to black card him.

It was one of the only decisions this ref got right against Laois as most of his other decisions against us were baffling to say the least. Our kickouts were killing us in the early stages but once we got that sorted we scored a great goal and took over for long periods after that. We missed another glorious chance of a goal a while after and had we scored it we would have been well on the way there. Our passing and decision making let us down badly but lets hope we learn from it and come back stronger next year..
