Money on its own won't buy you success. It's definitely a big help mind you.
Maybe not as big an outlier as the Dubs as I think there's plenty financial clout and resources in other clubs in the PL to match City. There's a reason Leister were 5000/1 to win the PL, it's essentially a closed shop to only the few unless an unusual set of stars align.

Problem with City is that their recent history meant they were unfashionable and easy to label "new money trash". It's pure snobbery and I like how much their success winds people up. Sure it's starting to become a bit boring and it would be nice to see someone like Arsenal pip them this year but fair play to them and their manager for what they've achieved. They'll come back into the pack soon enough when he leaves. They haven't racked up a billion in debt, don't owe hundreds of millions in unpaid transfer fees to other clubs and are investing in the local community. If some sugar daddy is willing to waste his own money doing that, so what.

Yaya a legend too. Greatest thing about Pep is his ability to handle egos. No one is bigger than the club, doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. If you get notions you either fall quickly back in line or get the boot. But still he keeps the persona of someone approachable, reasonable and forgiving. Brilliant manager.

Leinster would be interesting without Dublin. The quality would still be shite mind but at least it would be competitive.

So it's not about City's money (as we are in agreement) Chelsea plus utd have spent more and the likes of Liverpool's and city are better because of their appointments

that settled, I'm bored of City winning but it's not down to over spending

It's whole lot easier to slot a good/great player into an already great team core.  If you can manage to also replace older players with younger players into that team/squad, you can keep it going for a while (Liverpool late 70s to late 80s, Man U early 90s to 10s, City now).

A lot of that great Utd team were of a similar age (they were all part of the "win nothing with kids" team).  Once they all retire, you're left with a bunch of bit parts and you're looking to rebuild the core.  That's the hard part.  And that's where teams that won a lot of trophies on the bounce fall back.

The u20's weren't bad tonight , once they got on top of the Kildare puck out near the end of the first half they didn't look like they would be beaten. They also had the luxury of missing a penalty. The had a strong start to the second half with two goals but took the foot off for a while and things could have tightened up if Kildare hadn't shot as many wides I. Their purple patch.
