jaysus lads there is obviously goin to be a few mistakes with a new publication.
it seems there is a bit of nit-pickin going on. if anyone went through any national paper you'd see a load of basic errors.
i havent seen it but if a few typos are the only flaw and the articles are good well then fair play.

they should scrap the u-21s. the lads at that age are gettin loads of football as it is but apart from that in my club we really couldnt compete if we didnt let minors play. thats done in leixlip but they can field 3 seperate panels where we have to overlap.

its up to the individual case for the club to respect their players.

fairly brave launching at this time of year as was said not much to write about.
as a leinster man it would be good if they had a bit from other provinces, likle a little round up.
i havent seen it but at least they are advertising. the gaa seem to presume things will just promote itself. its kind of poxy to walk in to easons and see loads of specialist sports mags and only one or two gaa ones, none up till now were weekly.
but if it goes well surely they would look at a leinster market where there is more hype and revenue available.

well done, as i said i havent seen it but its about time that a weekly mag came out.

that was brought up at a meeting a few yaers ago by on eof the younger lads and it was shot down.

dont think its worth the hassle but its a shame when there is a rural parish with a great minor team and you see two young lads like keith cribben and graven in midfield and then they go their seperate ways for adult football.

i know most of the younger lads wouldnt mind.

but ill leave it, we are movin away from the point of the thread.

Club: Johnstownbridge
County: Kildare
Leinster 1998. personally  winning an u-16 b title with the club, we were serious underdogs and we all went to harriers in tullamore after. good times.

i love this a source said crap.
its like a source close to britney said that she is glad to be rid of kevin, she just wants to party for a while, etc.
the cannings didnt go running to the media the reporters went to them.
at the time the gaa violence was the hot topic so that was latched onto.
rem straight after it they chatted him and the headline was he may quit hurling for good but when you read it it was "yea i would consider my future.." this was breheny ringing up a young lad who was very upset naturally and asking him "would you consider quitting?" canning said he might and away to the printers with a hot scoop for the indo.
lads if loughnane really wants anyone he will get them. he is a young lad anyway so its not like there is a rush on for him.

point taken dinny.
to be honest i was goin a bit astray. the D4 thing is more about the fans.
one of my mates went into a pub with a workmate from dublin and was asked first off what school he went to.
it wasnt an acceptable answer as it wasnt private so they pretty much didn't speak to him.

geordan murphy played for kildare underage too.

the Bridge to win IFC in Kildare
kildare to get to leinster final
railway cup back strong and f**k the Rules Series

leave AZ alone.
i prefer munster coz tehy are country lads and have more in common with me than the likes of drico and d'arcy. you dont see them in lifestyle magazines every week.
if you had the choice you'd be on for a dirty sess with the munster boys. itd be some craic gettin messy in the pub.
with the leinster lads it would be listening to shite from D4ers then off to renards or club 92.
anyway if we could just as easily support leicester coz they have 8 leinster natives.

GAA Discussion / Sale of County Grounds
December 19, 2006, 04:38:04 PM
once again with reporters bored and no matches on, the sale of county grounds is on the agenda. as a kildare man i have no love for st conleths and the proposed sale would see an unbelievable new 23,000 capacity stadium within walking distance of the town as well as greatly improved training facilities.
bar the likes of semple and pairc ui caomh most would be sold without much fuss id say.
what do ye reckon bout any whispers of sales within your county or plans for that matter.

Ireland's Shitest Daily The Star.
all they want are papers to sell so they will write what the soccer heads want to hear and thats the culchies in the gaa hate soccer and dont want them playing in croker.
nicky brennan to be fair is playing this well and he is not getting in the papers near as much as the fai. meanwhile the irfu are good as gold and will reap benefits if any delays occur with lansdowne.
as i posted before the fai i heard wanted to play in glasgow as it would make them more money re corporate packages. they are stirrin it up so they can go off and say the 'bigots' in the gaa were impossible to deal with.

you can fool yourself into thinking you are important playing under floodlights and that it is a big game.
anyone can walk out in daylight after all!

lads really and truly there is no harm getting pride from the professionals.

roy keane got paid yes but he was hardly in it for the money. he loved his club and gave it his all.

this is a messy aul thread it must be said.

GAA Discussion / Re: McGuigan's Injury
December 17, 2006, 01:17:59 PM
the tyrone staement is pure talk and lipservice of the prcedures that are in place for injured players. it doesnt say if they were actaully followed through in mcguigan's case. eugene mcgee is a straight talking man and he wouldnt make shit up. tyrone could simply blow him away by coming back stating exactly what they did in mcguigan's personal case but all they did was outline what is supposed to happen.

i spoke to kiely and the fella struck me as being very honest and sound. while he got looked after eventually he was left dangling and the the aministrators fucked him around over little forms to be filled in.

lads this thing does happen and it gives ammo to the gpa who latch on to the whole thing.

GAA Discussion / Re: Favourite player you played with
December 15, 2006, 12:52:10 PM
just floatin through. saw the thing bout geoffrey. a few yaesr ago i was in newbridge where he put on an absolute exhibition at full forward.
he set up everything and we ut three different men on him. best thing was he didnt just have the size his vision was unbelievable. he made eegits out of the defenders elling dummies kicking scores and then when he was tired of that just bullying his marker and plughing through lads. one pass over the top to a wing back running at full tilt was one of the best ive ever seen in football. sheer class.
