Only saw it last night.  The first few episodes were dodgy enough but it really picked up from around the time of the judge and Jim Robinson stories (music in those episodes was unreal) and it has become my favourite show on TV since.  Well set up now with baddies too, as you have Elias, the computer hacker (possibly Reese's ex partner from the following), Agent Snow, FBI and a whole office, HR and now the wacko who kidnapped wee Finch last night.  A lot of questions to be answered too, especially with your man Nathan etc.  Hopefully channel 5 won't make us wait too long as the second season has already finished in the US.

Loving Game of Thrones myself. I'm a good bit ahead (halfway through book 4) in the books but still haven't come across any reference to the Theon torture storyline. Is this something extra that producers have thrown in?

The books are brilliant btw, the inability to include all history and background to the characters is the only flaw in the TV show. However, if you were to do that each series would probably be 20 episodes long!

Nope. You'll get to it.

Found myself drifting off whilst watching The Following as early as episode two. Gave up soon after from boredom.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

It must have improved as I stopped watching it as thought it was poor when Charlie left.

Stuck with it myself, wished I hadn't.

I gave up on the Folllowing after two episodes as well.

There's so many excellent shows around at the moment that watching something mediocre or that you don't really enjoy seems pointless.

I've watched the first two episodes of Hannibal and it's excellent, probably the best new US network drama in a good few years. The series is well written and acted, it's plotted more like a cable show than the  pace of most network shows where they seem to immediately forget what happened last week. It is the only show in the wake of Dexter that has added something to a show about a serial killer.

Will Graham (the character in Red Dragon) is the main focus of the series though and Hugh Dancy managed to create a troubled FBI analyst/cop/whatever that doesn't feel immediately tired. He has Aspergers and his relationship with Hannibal Lecter is the pivot of the series. Hannibal is played by Mads Mikelson (the villain from Casino Royle) and he gives an under-stated performance that does whack you over the head that he is an 'evil serial killer' every two seconds.

The way it weaved a bad guy of the week plot with character development reminded me of the way The X-Files used to at its peak. It really has shown up The Following, even if the Following is killing it in the ratings. The series could well be canned after one season, which would be a great pity.

I big part of why I'm so high on the show is that the first season (and all subsequent seasons if we're so lucky, it's by design) will be 13 episodes, aka US cable length. It's the perfect size to avoid having to dump a load of filler material into the series to pad a big episode order. I usually avoid anything remotely involved with police procedurals but this is one of the best attempts I've ever seen.

Just finished watching the season 3 finale of Breaking Bad. Probably the best piece of television I've ever seen.
