I'm way behind but I've just finished season 1 of True Detective. Thought it was great, how do the following seasons compare?

Unfortunately no comparison. Season 2 got poor reviews but it had a lot to live up to and I thought it was good enough. Wouldn't bother with 3 or 4.

Three the best of the rest imo

Jeepers Creepers

Agree but still could have been better. Series one was captivating. Had it all. 2 still a head scratcher at how bad it was, considering the budget and cast. Waiting to see 4.

Can see why plenty thought 4 was poor. Struggled to get into it tbh but strong last couple of episodes, average overall!

S1 had a great story and the two main characters were brilliant also and carried it forward.  It's hard to replicate something fresh like that. The title has been milked dry at this point.

Just watched Kin there, simple but brilliant.  As I said to the other half, who ever thought we would be rooting for dublin drug gangs to succeed!
I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

Season 1 of True Detective was slow for the first 3 or 4 episodes. Ended brilliantly. Season 2 and 3 were OK as was 4.

Kin is decent but nowhere near Love/Hate standard.

If season 1 of True Detective is all you've seen, I'd take a bit of a break before diving into the others. That first season is just too hard of an act to follow.

Season two is weird mix of good and just awful.  Worth watching in the end, but a serious let-down after Season 1.

I quite liked Season 3, but it's clearly not for everyone.   Only watched the first two episodes of season 4, so can't say much about that one.

Main Street

TD4 was mush, the polar opposite of "natural Police"
I found TD2 watchable, the last episode wrapped it up nicely. S3 was excellent imo, I don't get why it's not rated favourably here.

After watching S1 I'd follow with S3, then see if you can watch S2.

I Would second that recommendation

Hound

For some low brow offensive comedy, Ted is good fun. The bear character not dissimilar to Danny De Vito's character in Only Sunny in Philadelphia! I thought the film Ted was awful when I first saw it, but re-watching it as a sitcom (ie not expecting any story line and waiting for the oneliners) was a better experience.

So is the new Walking Dead. The Negan one was shit too and the Daryl one was just about average.
