The story of the strike through three different perspectives: A Derbyshire pit Village, the battle of Orgreave and the faceless forces who really run the country.
Excellent.

I watched a bit  of episode 1, but it didn't really  explain the lead up to the strikes. A bit of back story  was needed for me who can't really  remember  it at the time

Read up on the reasons for calling the strike. It's worth it.
You are right though, a bit of context is needed.
I unfortunately remember it very clearly. :-[

I gave it a miss as I thought it was a re-run of a miner's strike drama from the past but now I'll look out for it.
I remember Scargill came to Dublin during the strike, probably to open up bank accounts safe from confiscation. He said when walking the streets (from bank to bank?), women kept coming up to him stuffing fivers/tenners into his pockets.

I haven't heard that before.

Sometimes you have to watch what herself wants to watch and recently we have been getting through "The Morning Show".  It is a little like a tamer version of Succession, maybe. Certainly watchable.

Billy Crudup as Cory Ellison steals the show IMO.

I had been disappointed in Masters of the Air. Certainly not on Band of Brothers or Pacific levels. The latest episode was really good though. Hopefully that trend continues

Loudermilk on Netflix is very good.

Saffrongael

The Space Shuttle That Fell to the ground - on bbc, really good.

About the Columbia space shuttle crash in 2003. If you are into that sort of thing.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Good tip. Have seen episode 1. Hard to find the time to watch TV but I'll get to episode 2 over the weekend. Anything about the Space Shuttle programme is worth watching.

Not my usual type of show but One Day on Netflix is brilliant.

Same, 2 episodes and not sure I'll go back.

Watched Griselda recently and still not sure about it, was ok.

Felt they squeezed too much action into the 6 episodes, was surely content for at least 2 series, so it felt a bit rushed.

Read a review that said it didn't take itself too seriously, but I dunno, could just be cheesey bad. Definite scarface vibes.

Sofia Vergara was ok

Lol, exactly the same JimStynes.  Almost felt embarrassed recommending it to anyone but it is excellent
