One one hand we have the Carrickmore club volunteering the move of a large piece of GAA heritage over 100mile up the road for people to sit down in and watch any brawls that may erupt through their execution of our great game and on the other hand we see the club pay out large sums for their employees to manage their adult teams. It's great to see a club with such a diverse perspective of the GAA and its culture and the importance heaped upon the volunteer to the strength of our organisation.

Such a club being what it is it's not a surprise that it seems to dominate the entries on this forum

Written like a true professional. You should take up journalism for a profession my friend ;)
A good write up in todays Irish Independent about the mercenary men and clubs breaking rules paying managers.A great piece and one actually worth thinking about the contradictions and hypocrisy so rife in our association .
The place is full of money grabbing managers , media types ,involved in college football all under the pretence of being football mad , don't be fooled these people are only interested in money .There seems to be a glut of them around the Derry border !!

What happened was clearly wrong but the reality is the media are blowing it out of all proportion. There are so many people with agendas out there from rival clubs , the anti- GAA media etc..
Now there needs to be calm and let's hope the Co Board punish the offenders but give out this punishment in a meaningful way and not punish the good people. There are more good people within the two clubs than bad .The Co Board must not be bullied into rash action on the two clubs by a anti-GAA media , to punish 2 communities with a broad brush is wrong and I hope this does not happen .Carmen and Dromore both deserve to be play senior club football next year and it would be wrong to suspend the clubs. The Co Board need to be calm , clinical and fair on everyone here. The people of Carrickmore and Dromore know some so called supporters let them down , these people should be punished but not the good people.
These two clubs need our support and we all should rally round them as the vast majority of them are good people who do a power of work with their community and yes punish the guilty ones not everyone.

Yes the fixture wasn't in the master list for this time of year and Ricey had organised this for out of season so putting it off for him is no big deal. When you look at his sacrifices to his personal life over the years why shouldn't he be accomodated.
Carmen I am sure would want to win the league against a Dromore with Ricey but then again from Errigal's point of view in recent years winning leagues is very important.

The bog savage talking about investments by clubs sure it is the people all around you that are bleeding gaa clubs dry ! In and around Ardboe up through to Ballinderry how many mercenary men are there? They all talk about how many men from that area manage teams it is because they are all mercenary men and take money from all the clubs. I wonder how much money is going into the pockets of these men , it is a disgrace ,go through every one of them from colleges football right through Tyrone Division 1 and 2 and work it out , a clean farce. These people are leeches bleeding dry  the silly clubs that pay out to them.
Bderryman I wasn't referring to anyone specifically but now you are on the subject ,I wonder how much your own club members have taken in this year as managers of other clubs and university sides?
It is the region around your own club and a 10mile radius that seems to have the biggest leeches and men that take money by the fistful for managing teams , go through them all . You know rightly what is going on and it is pathetic and these people should be ashamed of themselves they are leeches and a disgrace .
u sound jealous old hand...
Bderryman I think it is disgusting and it illustratres the real motivation behind such people they are not Gaa men they are merely leeclhes .How anyone could make a joke out of this in the economic hardship we are all in and clubs too that people see it fit and decent to bleed clubs dry ..In all seriousness  how much are these men bringing in from university football right through to the club sides they manage , the area it seems so widespread in is the area around your own club and 10 miles radius.Someone must have an idea we could start from Tyrone Division 1 and 2 and go into Derry Division 1 etc and through to university football , the money being paid out to these people must really stick in the throat of the good decent volunteers around the clubs in these areas , it is so sad that they have bluffed so many when in reality they are the real leeches...
do you think anyone gives a fiddlers what you think,go away and wise up you clown...
Bderryman seems like I have hit a raw nerve ! Yes people do care about mercenary men running around the country taking money and yes it is very prevalent around the area you come from. You know how disgusting it is and it is time that gaa people begin to stop this and highlight the people who do it all the way from university football to club football. We are in tough economic time and these leeches should be condemned.

EC Unique  alias Mr Nasty/Gossip mongrel Canavan was in a league of his own and was the reason for the new club's victories , Quinn or Gormley don't deserved to be mentioned in the same sentence unless they are close relatives of EC Uniq.
This  could go some way to explain your vicious verbal assault on the Dromore man. Jealousy within a club is a horrible thing.

Facts are overall Dromore are a better side than the new club Errigal and only for Canavan Errigal and the Fermanagh man would never have won Ulster.

Ardboe men all strangely bluffed by their bosses in Derry and always first to rally round them , I'd wouldn't  be surprised that they are supporting  Ballinderry against their fellow county men !!
I'd also wonder how much money is paid to managers from that area , they all seem to be on the gravy train there ??!!!!!!!
Someone could work it out and add up the money being spent on experts from that area , from colleges to clubs etcc , go on someone do the sums ....
Manager A gets x a week
Manager B gets 2X ...

My point is Tyrone championship is so competitive and hardest to win once it is won it has proven very difficult at Ulster level , with Dromore having been so dominant in recent years I feel they will go far in Ulster.Derry club titles are easier won and as a result quality sides like the Loup and Ballinderry sides of the early 2000s have done well in Ulster. But yes Derry titles are easiest in Ulster to win.Derry has a very small senior football playing population and actually over achieves but facts is Derry Co titles are easy to win comparred to other counties.

Onto Sunday I think Dromore will win by 4 or more.Ballinderry are a limited side , full back Mc guckin is wide open to be taken apart and a good man marking job on Gilligan will sort him , up close and personal.
Derry is such an easy championship to win really as there is only about 3 or 4 teams if in Tyrone would be Division1.
Ballinderry yes got an All ireland but really overall the standard they are playing week in week out is pretty dismal so Dromore to go on and hopefully get an Ulster.

EC Unique I urged you to delete your post not to defend yourself and come up  with nonsense on why you felt it was appropriate to write what you did,For a second time I urge you to delete your post and after you have done that the rest of us who commented on your horrible post will do likewise and save a young mans character from being belittled and one funny enough who has connections from your region. Now at once do the decent thing and delete it alongside any further posts linked to it.
