Paddy D, Donie and DOC in for boyler, Caff and Andy. Priority no red or black cards for Kerry game. Should be winning by 10-12. This weekend has been the target since January. COC and Aidan O'Shea coming into, if we press up on Roscommon kickout Lavin will struggle. John McManus is weak link at FB

GAA Discussion / Sunday 20th August Kerry v Mayo

Must avoid red cards/injuries in second half and against Roscommon next sunday. Caff is a worry at full back, Would be worried if Kerry fully press clarke kickouts and must ensure referee protect Cillian and Keegan

Its game over. Cork don't have the legs and we have wind in second half. Sure win 7/8

There is something special about this Mayo team this year, how they all came back this year after their monster run last year, getting just seconds from victory. I contine to say, Mayo WILL win it all this year! Roll on September 17, the players, back room team and fans...the date 17-9-17 is OURS! Maigh Eo Abú!!!!

The Double is on! Hollymount and Mayo! ;)

if we beat Davitts anything could happen Tom

Thought Tomas Quinn was excellent tonight.

RTE must be under severe pressure from sponsors to get back in Dublins good books.

Like ffs, the Commercial and Marketing Manager for Dublin GAA brought on as a pundit on the show. Can nobody see the irony of this after the ass Jim Gavin made of himself a couple of weeks ago. I could only laugh when I seen him talking about zoomed in grainy footage of Cillian O'Connor that shows nothing

i agree 100% the TSG bowing to the Dubs again, we had the same scenario with Ciaran Whelan last year on Keegan. The Dublin media must fear us and trying to derail another All Ireland for us. Think it time mayo media organised a campaign to defend ourselves.

The harrison one is dangerous. Judo throws like that can do a lot of damage if the head hits the ground awkwardly. We saw a Derry player going for the eyes to release himself from a wrestle and there were two throws this weekend (one by harrison and another in the Galway/Roscommon melee). Who started it is irrelevant, players need to face sanctions for these things. If I remember correctly (a good while ago now) a Fermanagh county player was left in a critical condition after being on the end of a judo throw when tangling with an opposition player in San Francisco club football. This isn't an anti-Mayo thing it needs to be stamped out for the safety of all players.

The Cillian thing on the other hand smells a bit. A bit like the Keegan thing. However we all know Cillian exacted some retribution on Philly McMahon last year which has infuriated the Dubs and it seems they are not going to let it go. He's a tough player who plays very close to the edge in the physical stakes (as does Philly McMahon) and he needs to be very careful now or we could lose him for a big match. Which begs the question who is our replacement free taker these days?

I would now say it is likely Cillian will get a red-card this year if he makes contact with the face of a player when tackling regardless of the intent. Referees can be effectively led as we have seen previously with the Keegan media stuff. No point complaining about it, management need to cognisant and plan accordingly.

You are right about Cillian and refs for the rest of the season.
The Sunday f**king Game have again set the tone re Cillian when they asked the Dublin GAA Commercial Manager to comment on Cillian defending himself. Same as that complete bolloux act last year when Ciaran Whelan put the icing on the cake as far as Dublin were concerned but sewing the seed firmly in the refs mind re Lee Keegan

'Defending himself' you ask re Cillian .... YES ....  incident linked below was seconds before Cillians attempt to defend himself:
https://youtu.be/sky8ojZPdKE
What was he supposed to do .... continue to be horsed about the place all games long ?

I tell you, if Cillian is sent off for a 'soft' incident later in the summer, then it would take all my restraint to not march on the Sunday Games Studio and ..... OK, well i'd probably do f*ck all but i would have a fair blast of steam that would need to be released somehow!

+1 Cillian needs more protection from referees

The typical Sunday game analysts bashing of Mayo continues. Citing O'Connor incident and Harrison's dump tackle stating they were both lucky not to see red!I could see nothing in the O'Connor incident when they zoomed in. Nothing said about the atrocious standard of reffing where great tackles were given as frees and fouls were waved play-on on both sides

The dirty petrol has been well and truly emptied. We should rack up a big win and win well  to cruise to next round. The main aim is to avoid injuries/red cards for the kerry game in QF or SF.  Big mayo crowd around the town, good to see.

Another chap sent off when the game was in the mix. F*cking pathetic

Have listened to local journalists criticise poor Laois support, but I pity Laois supporters. Why support unfit and indisciplined teams? My advice is keep your money in your pockets.

Both of you guys were obviously at home and not at the game. O'Loughlin received a second yellow card but no-one can remember him getting the first one. He was being pulled and dragged off the ball and eventually shoved his marker away. The ref as usual took the handy way out and issued two yellows. The only other Laois player that received a yellow before that was Stephen Attride, not O'Loughlin.
Having said that Clare were the better team by far, way fitter and some great movement from their forwards. They deserved their win even tho' they did use 7 subs. I don't think a replay would do Laois any favours but it's out of their hands now.

7 Subs Used:
Clare: Joe Hayes; Gordon Kelly, Kevin Harnett, Martin McMahon; Pierce Lillis, Ciarán Russell, Dean Ryan; Gary Brennan, Cathal O'Connor; Cian O'Dea, Eoin Cleary, Sean Collins; Keelan Sexton, David Tubridy, Jamie Malone. Subs: John Hayes for Russell (56 mins), Gearoid O'Brien for Tubridy (56 mins), Seanie Malone for Sexton (61 mins), Darren Nagle for O'Dea (61 mins), Eoghan Collins for Harnett (64 mins), Darragh Bohannon for Lillis (69 mins), Kieran Malone for S Collins (69 mins).

Eoghan Collins for Kevin Harnett was a bloodsub

I used to follow Kildare - including close to 600 mile round trips. I have genuinely lost interest since the financial doping came to light. I'll watch the GAA on TV.

Are you talking about the glory years or 2008-2013?

Throw in they won Leinster in 1998/2000 with Brian Murphy, Brian Lacey and Karl O'Dywer all imported in with the legendary Mick O'Dwyer

We're all still paying for that bailout when Kildare ran the most expensive setup in the country.

How is that relevant?

Heffo has made assertions about Kildare being the most expensive set up. I asked him to send me a link to prove same. Surprise surprise he doesn't respond. Why? Because its not true. No matter what his colleagues in the DCB tell him.

Paul Grimley, John Rafferty, Aidan O'Rourke, Jason Ryan, Niall Carew wouldnt have been cheap in backroom. I believe was getting 250k per annum in the nineties. In fairness he delivered

Kildare should just give it a rattle sunday week. I think ye can bate the Dubs. Ye've 4/5 lads that gave up professional sport on the panel and young players who have history of beating Dublin underage so time for them to step up.

40 pages about Connolly pointing a finger into a linesmans shoulder. Whereas we have a goalkeeper from the hurling all Ireland winners taking huge sums of money and deceiving an 80 year old man and there's little said in hurling quarters.

Didn't Kildare Alan Smith take money from someone else as well? Gleeson should be dropped from Tipp panel

He did. Not sure of the circumstances.

Did he get jail? Remember reading about it at the time.
