Title: Minor Football Ulster League
Post by: elk on March 27, 2013, 12:42:51 PM
See Down beat Monaghan comfortably enough last night and Tyrone have beaten Derry, although I would image Derry were probably without their St. Pats lads ( good luck in the Hogan cup this weekend ). Tyrone may well be the team to beat this year.

After the disappointment of how the 2008 and 2010 minor teams fared at U-21 level, my interest in minor football is not what is was.  Would be happier to see Tyrone consistently producing the best U-21 sides like they do at minor.

Down had another comfortable victory in Cavan, looks like Tyrone and Down could be the teams to beat in Ulster this year.

You'd be a foolish man to take that view this early on Elk. Many of these teams use this league for trials and nothing more.

There's an extremely strong correlation between success in this competition and success in the Championship.

Maybe the women will referee better than the men, though that would not be hard these days.

Fair play til her.

I hate people cross referencing GAA debates with soccer, but I feel its worth pointing out that the best linesperson in the premier league is your woman Sian Massey.

Maybe some of the counties are giving trials to the wrong lads!
