Harsh a critic though i may be of POR, I don't think you have any need to concern yourself lads. You are not going to lose on Sunday. I don't think you realise how poor Galway are. They probably played one of their best games against us and still got torn apart. Their only strength is moving quick ball through their HF line to running forwards. They will not be able to do that against your half backs who will have no problem tackling.

As for the changes to the forward line I am suprised too. Can only repeat your comments - Why wait till now to look at Murtagh & Watters? I assume the move of Vernon is, as another poster said, just paper and effectively he will play centre pitch pushing forward. You have been concerned about lack of points from HF line, Vernon would at least help correct that, so it may not be as silly a move as some have suggested.

Actually this is probably a very good experimental side from O'Rourke. It is most likely to answer the question - What if our real championship team gets injuries, who can we put in? I actually think it is a useful team for assessing the squad, I am pretty sure even POR doesn't think this is your BEST team.

But like I said you will not lose to Galway, he could field the entire Crossmaglen team and you'd still beat Galway

I think Stephen Nolan is a wonderful man who uses his undoubted talents to engage with the real issues we face on a daily basis from the bin collection to underage drinking to ethnic cleansing. Armagh were laughably bad.  There probably wouldn't have been a big difference in clean catches taken by both teams in MF, but Armagh just appeared to be wiped out in the MF sector, I fail to remember us winning a single break ball.  Again you could have driven a bus down through the centre of the defence, big a fan and all as I am of Dyas CHB is not his position,  Paul Duffy is a classy article but not too fond of the defending.  No leadership on the field, no organisation or leadership from the sidelines either.  It really did smack of boys being thrown in and us hoping for the best, no semblence of tactics, bar the backs bombimg forward.

Nippy Swift scored 2-1 cleanly fielded 90% of ball that went near him and was criminally underused, the rest of the forwards are barely worthy of mention.  Grugan was quiet but I'm sure he's done more than enough to make POR think about starting him v the Dubs.

The Dubs in just over a week looks very worrying, dont know were the fitness is going to suddenly appear from as for the 2nd game in a row we looked dead with 15 to go, the 'experienced' players are going to get their first game of the year against the Dubs - unless there's been something magical going on in training I dont see how are they going to be up to speed for a high-intensity big crowd/TV game.

Sorry lads, Dyas is not and never will be a corner back. It's just not in his make up. He's actually quite a loose half back now but he can improve that area no doubt.

It was striking on sunday that the biggest single factor in the game was Antrim's use of a permenant sweeper in o'neill from wing forward.

I can't believe the assessments that the half back line was good. it was awful for the most part. antrim gave our half back line the ball and challenged us to break them down. we couldn't. the only creative spark came from dyas but not enough. antrim wanted our half backs to carry the ball - apparently impressing - to slow the game down while they set up their trap further back. on top of that, all of antrim's scores came from pouring into the space our half back line conveniently vacated while pushing up.

Antrim's tactics are of 5 years ago but are obviously new to us.

They seen to be under the impression that the capacity to host a world cup successfully should be down to a final day presentation and the number of celbrities they can line up. they have been a joke for months with changes in their bid leadership and members, not to mention a press that did not want the tournament until the last few days.

Russia wanted this from the get go. they lobbied and worked inside fifa - the way to influence any policial decision - and when you add in the financial muscle they put behind their bid there was probably only ever going to be one winner.

What if thats the truth? I certainly would be thinking the same, the voting process has nothing to with which bid is the best.

You could have Cruppin as a county ground but the Newry & Mourne would probably limit the crowd to about 1000-1200 patrons for H&S reasons, they catagerise grounds and factor their facilities (or lack of them) and anticipated crowd and then they set an actual attendance figure for that ground and obviously because it's a final you get almost every Gael from the county attending hence the 5000-7000 strong crowds at some previous finals. It wouldn't make much sense for the CB to fix a final for Cruppin to have 1000 people at it and loose about £40-50k.

The match is in Cross so just get over it, next year when it's back the Athletic Grounds then you can go and win it there beating Cross in the final.

Semi finals attract a decent crowd but no way near the capacity expected at a county final . Sarsfields man you should keep all your talking for after your final (by the way i hope you lot win)

We are agreed on the county board's shortsightedness and incompetence.

However, the pandering to cross comes from the decision to not prepare a viable alternative county final venue. The "ah sure we'll hold it in cross" attitude is more than lazy administration, its an insult to every other competing club and no doubt as much a sop to cross as was the agreement to keep hosting national league games there when the athletic grounds is available. those behind close door deals are the type of shite that sickens everyone in the county about the administrators we're lumbered with.
