Jez,
would never have thought of that.. I'll get the youngsters a few books while I'm at it..

Maybe sign up for a free month with netflix then cancel within the 30 days..good quality streaming

Therein lies my problem, Living in the sticks means my BT broadband is pretty shit, I'd be lucky to get remotely 1Meg, let alone the 2.6M I'm supposed to get..

Netflix and all that gumph is out until they upgrade the local switch to 'fibre to the street'

Just finished last season of Breaking Bad. Indescribably  good!

Orange is the New Black isn't bad. Netflix are producing some decent stuff.

Ahem,
anyone know where one could pick up breaking bad without too much bother??  ;)

No idea what the story is at home. The final season came out on DVD in the states a few weeks back. AMC just showed the entire series last week, which is when I recorded and watch the last season. Netflix doesn't have the last season up in the states yet (unless in the last few days).

Callan kicks the Year is worth looking at tonight on RTE 1 at 10 50pm for the Dundalk Abbey sketch alone. Brilliant. Its on near the beginning. The rest is shite.

Probably about 20 years too late but Homicide Life on the Streets is absolutely fantastic. Pembleton is some boy! Great box set.

Lads, what the hell was the story with the end of Season 3 of The Borgias????

It's almost a stretch to call it an ending...

Show about Donal Walsh on RTE 2 at the moment.
What a brave fella.
I think someone must have left a few chopped onions in my living room.....

Dust in the eyes in our house as well.

Donal was an inspirational young man who carried his illness with great courage.
I'm gonna show you as gently as I can how much you don't know.

The show is timeless, well the  6 series are,  the 7th is mostly missable.
The rookie Bayliss, his first case sets the whole series as being outstanding, from his first crime scene, to the gut wrenching time when they inform the family to the intense interrogation (him and Frank) of the suspect.
The 6th series,  in amongst the 22 or so episodes you have a couple of the all time exceptional episodes of tv drama is a series  -   Paul Giamatti & his pit bulls, and the man in the subway episode.

Don't you live in the bbc.co.uk zone? Can you not watch it on the BBC player?

The first 2 episodes were ok marred by a corny main plot, involving hackneyed depictions of nasty young school kids and evil killer eco-terrorists. Plenty of scenes involving going to work by driving across the bridge or going home via the bridge.

Don't miss it Ziggy, it's better than season-1, in my opinion anyway.
